NBC's $500 thousand donation to the Trump Foundation

In their reporting about the scandal-plagued Trump "Charitable" Foundation, more than one MSNBC anchor has disclosed that "our parent company NBC made a $500K donation to the Trump Foundation in 2012." My question is, why in the world would they do that? If it was about corporate benevolence, there are so many more worthy organizations. Was it a way of laundering money to Trump in lieu of actual salary for his stupid reality show, giving NBC a tax deduction for a "charity" donation, while Trump had every intention of using it as a slush fund he could use for personal expenses but never having it taxed as income?

It's interesting that ..."In recent years, Trump's foundation has disbursed money to dozens of organizations, some with connections to Trump, such as $100,000 donated in 2012 to the Citizens United Foundation, the foundation arm of Citizens United, whose president, David Bossie, became the Trump campaign's deputy manager."....

and what was the rationale. Stating it was "our parent company NBC" doesn't begin to scratch the surface, and claiming that such a statement is "full disclosure" is disingenuous.

Well also remember his stupid apprentice show was an NBC show, mainly being a big draw for that network. This is why NBC will ALWAYS be up Trumps ass. When he loses this Nov, he will be back at that show, and will be creating a new network to be run by Roger Ailes.

to give him weekly exposure, enabled his ongoing high profile and celebrity status, and even funded his bogus "charity." I'd like to ask the responsible party if they don't feel some responsibility for all that has ensued. Somebody made the decision. Who, and why? Stop hiding behind the vague "parent company NBC." That is cowardice worthy of Trump himself.

Unbelievable.
Perhaps it really was a way for Trump to dodge taxes (again), as Tanuki supposed.

but have heard from those who were on it that it went like this; Trump would offer a charitable donation as an inducement or whatever to a contestant. Contestant does this or that, I'll donate 50,000 to this charity. But he was notorious for never actually giving the money. So NBC made a large donation to the foundation to cover several of these program offers Trump had made. Guess they felt obligated since they had aired the program and it was making NBC look bad. NBC has known for a LONG TIME that Trump is an imposter and a miserable human being. But as long as he made them money, who cares?

I think you are getting very close to the truth.

Maybe the Justice Department should investigate NBC/Comcast?

Why would they donate to the Trump Foundation, with all the other credible charities in this world?
