Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump criticized NBCs Lester Holt as a biased Democrat ahead of next weeks presidential debate, but the future debate moderator is actually a registered Republican.
Fox News Bill OReilly began by praising Holt Monday night, saying they used to work together in local New York television and he believed he was a fair reporter. Trump agreed, saying I have respect for Lester.
By the way, Trump added later, Lester is a Democrat.
-snip-
But Time Magazines Zeke Miller actually looked into the moderators political affiliations. His findings: New York State voter registration documents show that Holt has been a registered Republican in the state since 2003.
Ironically, the only debate moderator who is actually a registered Democrat is Fox News Chris Wallace, who liberal outlets like Media Matters have criticized as too biased in Trumps favor. The remaining presidential debate moderator, CNNs Anderson Cooper, is not registered with either party.

(31,483 posts)His bluster, yelling and name calling that highlighted the Republican debates isn't going to fly this time. Most debate watchers will be looking for specific plans and policies, which puts him at a disadvantage. Without a teleprompter, he's going to have a hard time putting coherent sentences together and his lack of knowledge and experience will be on full display.
Hillary, on the other hand, has been preparing for these debates and has policies for the subjects they will be questioned on. She's going to mop the floor with him.

(8,989 posts)He can't think on his feet. Expect Ailes to be in the audience with prompt cards.
He will attack every question with crap about Hilary this and that.
I hope he does his usual pathetic blustering about how he made so much money etc
That is what he cannot help doing.
