...thank you.
I had a dream that I was out walking and I ran across a couple of people who were campaigning for Hillary. I went to them and shook their hands and expressed my gratitude for what they were doing. I thought it would be a good idea to do that in real life.
My powers of persuasion are nil and I'm not the most outgoing person so I tend not to volunteer for things requiring those skills. I also don't have a whole lot of free time. I work a lot. About the best I can do for Hillary's campaign is chip in a few bucks here and there, so that's what I do.
I know people like me are needed, but I also know that there are people who do a great deal more than what I can. Thanks again. Be safe when you hit the streets and may God bless you with saintly patience when you are working the phones.

(53,001 posts)far less than persuasion. The idea is to contact voters, make sure they get registered, and then contact again to get them to the polls. If you encounter someone who supports another candidate, you thank them for their time and move on. You can choose to try to persuade undecided voters by talking about why you support Clinton, but you don't have to do so.
Some people do data entry and don't interact with voters at all.
