BREAKING: Hillary Gets Most Important Endorsement Of 2016 Election, Polls Soar In Seconds
By Natalie Thongrit -
September 22, 2016
A group of 75 former U.S. ambassadors and State Department officials has signed a letter endorsing Hillary Clinton and denouncing Donald Trump.
Among the 75 individuals are 57 ambassadors who were chosen by Republican presidents. All of these ambassadors, along with the rest of the group, believe that Donald Trump is entirely unqualified to serve as President and Commander-in-Chief.
The group of foreign officers all said that, while they do not necessarily agree with all of Clintons decisions, they still support her over her opponent. For many members of the group, this is the first time that they have publicly endorsed a presidential candidate, and they explained that their reasoning for doing so now is because the stakes in this election are so high.
The letter emphasized the fact that the 2016 election is very different from any other election that the groups members can remember. The diplomats also didnt mince words in explaining their reasoning for finding Trump so unqualified to be president.
Trump is described as being ignorant of the complex nature of the challenges facing our country. Included in these challenges were Russia, China, ISIS, nuclear proliferation, refugees, and drugs. The letter also criticized Trump for not only being inexperienced but also for being unwilling to learn about these important subjects.

(5,842 posts)Trump will convince his supporters that since these ambassadors were hired by presidents who are responsible for the international scene today that their opinion is worthless.
He won't lose anyone already behind him and it's seems that fence-sitting Republicans are starting to move his way in terms of voting.

(7,178 posts)people where something or another changed or made up their minds!
Hard to tell sometimes what will make a difference. Sometimes is just something small.
Read a comment in another site- just a comment- about how a woman saw how Trump touched his daughter at the RNC convention and that was all she needed as a victim of sexual abuse. In her case her step-father tried all throughout her childhood to abuse her. So she recognized it in Trump and also his daughter.
Sometimes is something big!

(9,821 posts)In my (backwater, ignorant, red, red, red county in the red state of Georgia), there is a small core of progressive thinkers and activists. Many of them are retired school teachers who are highly respected in the community and whose voice is heard by their former students. One of my friends is a former high school teacher who is beloved by many. Over the past few years, she has mainly posted things about family or cat rescue, but this year she has started posting many articles to facebook about the mess that will be created if trump is elected. I hope that some of those former students will remember how fair, honest, committed and compassionate she was during all those years spent in teaching high school and will think about what she is saying via social media posts. If it changes even one or two minds, it will be worth it.

(11,518 posts)Sadly, tRump will definitely get support from somewhere around 40 percent of voters. Their minds are made up, their vote is cast in stone.
It's those who are still undecided, for whatever reason, that are important. The more of those folks who can be convinced that tRump is totally unfit for office the better chance we'll have of not only taking the White House but also gaining ground in Congress. Believe it or not, many Americans don't really start paying attention to elections until about this time. I believe these endorsements WILL have an effect.

(58,724 posts)It seems hard to believe that such voters exist in any significant numbers.

(115,674 posts)It's like trying to decide what you want for dessert: chocolate cake or toadstools? Do you want to spend the afternoon at a picnic in the park, or would you rather roll naked in nettles? Do you want sprinkles on your cupcake, or ground glass? Would you rather have a warm oil massage or a colonoscopy? Would you like to play with kittens, or wolverines?
It doesn't seem to be a very difficult choice. It's not like apples and oranges; it's like apples and plutonium.

(14,570 posts)The clerk said she'd never voted before in her life (she looked around 35 or 40), but she'd registered now so she could vote for Clinton. She told me her mother was also registered.
So, I'm thinking that EVERY LITTLE BIT makes a difference.
Besides, Trump is beginning to get called out more on his lies. The real fact is that only about 20% to 25% of Americans will still vote for Trump when they know more about the lies he spews out like clockwork. The guy is a pathological liar.
There's a book called 'Tipping Point,' and it is an exploration of the point at which causes that have been in doubt go one way or another. People who really don't think much about politicians are now beginning to look at the candidates. Yeah, Clinton has some negative baggage, but Trump??? The guy is a maniac that hasn't even cracked a book in 20 years. He's ready to throw nukes around in Europe for God's sake.
And last, Mike, there's me. Personally, I'm not taking ANYTHING for granted. I have checked my registration and will vote come hell or high water - for Clinton. My wife and grown children plan to vote Clinton as well.
