(11,722 posts)Ted Cruz just lost whatever respect he might have had from any constituency he gained from his stance at the RNC. I agree wholeheartedly with Kaine. You can criticize my family for things with which you disagree with them, but you make up lies and attack them like Trump did Cruz's, its game over. Alas, I have a sense of honor, integrity, and loyalty.

(236 posts)I could never be proud of a man who throws his father and wife under the bus for a political career. I'm glad my SO has integrity.

(21,988 posts)Ted Cruz is a coward just like Donald Trump.
I suspect that the RNC is putting tons of pressure on the other Republican primary candidates to follow the pledge to support they all signed.
Te Republicans have put party before country. And they call themselves patriots.
Hypocrites.

(2,322 posts)...Everyone hates Cruz. The only reason he had voters was because he was up against Trump. And so long as he stayed against Trump, he kept those supporters. Even after the primary, he had them because they wanted to protest Trump. If he's now Trump's dog come to heel, exactly why should his supporters still support him? Or vote for Trump, the one person they so didn't want to vote for that they voted for Cruz?
The GOP may be patting itself on the back for making sure every one from the primaries is chained to an oar and rowing Trump's floating casino towards the White House, but they've left behind all their voters in the process. And this helps them...how? I mean, I doubt it even helps them after Trump loses and leaves, as all these guys will now have to live down their support for Trump in every upcoming election.

(1,278 posts)but didn't Ted Cruz's wife had a hissy look on her face when Ted tried to hug her in public.
As I did the Bing on this, it was actually his daughter that didn't want to hug him.

Heidi Nelson, his wife and Mary Pat Foster, Christie's wife, must be really not loving life right now as political spouses. I wouldn't want to be either of them.

(23,135 posts)But then he followed that up with "Believe me," so I didn't believe him. I knew right then that he was lying--his lips moved.

(3,635 posts)crawling back to shine 'Mr Trump's' shoes.
Trump (and his supporters) used xenophobic and nativist attacks against both of them, not to mention all of the other nasty attacks.

(58,584 posts)I mean folding like a lawn chair to a guy that dissed your family on national TV kind of solidifies the "opportunistic asshole" image to me. I could give him a modest amount of grudging respect for poking Trump in the eye at the convention, but saying "vote your conscience" and then weaseling back to kiss Trump's boots is just slimeball weak.

(10,030 posts)all these pathetic GOP ass kissers like Cruz are going to see the end of their political careers.
I really believe this.
