What are your self-calming techniques? I'm listening to my fave Hawaiian music just now....

The sound track from The Descendents is phenomenal.

Later I'll switch to Iz until my husband gets home from work and switches on the debates.

Season 4, Episode 6 "Game On" takes place towards the end of President Bartlet's reelection campaign. He has a debate with Florida Governor Richie and mops the floor with the Republican challenger.

It gives me hope.

Then I pray that all sentient beings will be free of suffering, and the causes and conditions of suffering.
That all sentient beings will have happiness and the causes and conditions of happiness.

If I'm particularly agitated, I meditate on Akshobhya, the Buddha of mirror-like wisdom and calm abiding. Akshobhya is the antidote to negative emotions, especially anger. He sits on a throne borne by elephants, symbolizing strong, unmoveable, steadfastly calm abiding.

I already know where my vote is going, and California is a blue state. IF anything, I look forward to seeing Trump falling on his face. I Look forward to him rolling his eyes, and making some comment he regrets later.

Ran the car's AC on high all the way home. There's no AC in the house, so that ice cream will be just the thing for us.

TV on PBS. Mac n cheese in the nuker. Let the games begin.
