(26,257 posts)Is it after the VP debate?
But I'll be surprised if he doesn't pull something to back out.

He knows exactly what he's doing and he is dominating the volume and frequency. Even if he says gibberish, he is cutting down on response time and looking very aggressive. The low information voters will gobble that up and I think he is playing for the lowest common denominator.

(268 posts)Even they think he's doing badly, but they're blaming Lester Holt being "bias". I'm not sure if this hideous performance is going to move the needle much, but it's comforting, at least for tonight.

(7,968 posts)unfortunately, he actually has a chance and this debate won't lose him his current voters. But if he chickens out he will... so he has to debate again.

(34,135 posts)The second presidential debate will take the form of a town meeting, in which half of the questions will be posed directly by citizen participants and the other half will be posed by the moderator based on topics of broad public interest as reflected in social media and other sources. The candidates will have two minutes to respond and there will be an additional minute for the moderator to facilitate further discussion. The town meeting participants will be uncommitted voters selected by the Gallup Organization.
Third presidential debate (October 19, 2016, University of Nevada-Las Vegas, Las Vegas, NV)
The format for the debate will be identical to the first presidential debate.
