Clinton doesn't need to cater to dissatisfied conservatives

Before I go any farther let me me make it clear that I don't think Clinton will cater to conservatives. This is more of a rant about how sick I am of seeing dissatisfied conservatives come into the Democratic Party and expecting it to conform to them. Guess what, Republicans? Trump is YOUR monster. You guys created the conditions that led to his rise. Deal with it. You're more than welcome to help us defeat him, but don't expect us to cater to you. A guest doesn't have the right to come into someone's living room and start redecorating.

By the way, it was the Arizona Republic's endorsement that spurred this rant. I'll quote the relevant excerpt below:

"Hillary Clinton has long been a centrist. Despite her tack left to woo Bernie Sanders supporters, Clinton retains her centrist roots. Her justices might not be in the mold of Antonin Scalia, but they will be accomplished individuals with the experience, education and intelligence to handle the job."

Personally, I choose to believe that Clinton's move to the left was more than just a cynical ploy for voters. I like to believe and hope that it was a heartfelt response to the will of the thousands of voters in the party's primary election.

Again, to be clear, this isn't an attack on Clinton. It's an attack on conservatives who want to change the Democratic Party to suit them. They broke their party; they should fix it.

and what the Hell is wrong with picking SCOTUS nominees, who are "accomplished individuals with the experience, education and intelligence to handle the job?" Beats the hell out of some idiot like Clarence Thomas.

I also believe that Clinton's move to the left is more than pandering to millenials. If Bernie's policy arguments about education, trade deals, war, investing in our infrastructure, raising taxes on the 1%, etc were cogent enough to move HRC, then so much the better. It shows that she has an open mind and can be persuaded with logic, reason, and compassion for people.

Republicans need to get their own house in order. Get their moral compass fixed, and put people before the almighty dollar.

The Clintons have always been on the left... they moved "right" to win and govern. Winning is important and Democrats were not doing that anymore... Like Obama, Hillary will do things that disappoint progressive Democrats. However, if progressive Dems show strength and keep working together among peers and the public, progressive policies will continue to be advanced. Securing the Supreme Court will be a significant step. We can speed it up by electing more progressives/Democrats! The Arizona Republic writers will quietly vote for Hillary - but it's pointless to go for "Tea Party Conservatives" who hate people like Obama and the Clintons because they kill babies, etc. these people are opposing Democrats because they think it will keep they out of Hell. You can't debate them or ever win their votes!

pretend he's some anomaly and the collection of assholes known as the Republican Party are a decent bunch. Normalizes these extremists and doesn't do jack shit for Senate and congressional candidates. It gives the rest of the party a pass.

to send a message to Americans that Donald's over-the-top criminality and bigotry will not be normalized and that far-right extremist should be sent back to the fringes of society where they belong.
