Man to our left of speakers at Al Smith dinner

Who was that man to our left of the speaker? He looked very ill to me and I kept looking to see if he was going to keel over.

My friend kept talking about the unknown woman who was displaying lots of cleavage, behind him. I had been so concerned about the 'ill' man I had not seen her till later! Don't know her either.

Can anyone help on either of these folks?

given from where the speakers presented.

Both the man, who I bet is a priest, and Maria grew self-conscious. Look again. You will notice the man grow less jovial, and he begins to lean his head into the shot of Maria's cleavage.

And Maria, for her part glances up, presumably at the projection, and attempts to nonchalantly cover up.

It's pretty funny. The priest is visibly agitated by the buxom proximity of Maria in her red dress.

according to a post I saw on a different discussion board, after googling. No idea why he was shiny, though (I though at first that it was a bandage on his forehead)...

As far as the shiny part. Camera lights for TV are VERY hot. He was close enough that he would have been feeling them all night.

Sounds like a good guy:

Studzinski is heavily involved in hands-on philanthropy, patronage, and charity work. His numerous charitable activities revolve mainly around the arts, the homeless, and human rights. His own charity, the Genesis Foundation, supports and nurtures people in the creative fields in the early stages of their careers.

The homeless[edit]

The Financial Times has called Studzinski a "champion of homeless charity work in London".[2] He is a founder member of the Passage Day Centre, one of the largest day care centers for the homeless in London, and he funds the homeless charity Emmaus UK.[52] He also works as a regular volunteer at the Passage soup kitchen.[20][31]

Studzinski was the first chairman of Business Action on Homelessness,[53] which is a partnership between Business in the Community, major companies, homeless agencies, and the British government. The organization, which began in 1998, raises companies' awareness of homelessness throughout the UK, and works with businesses to equip homeless people with the skills needed to gain and sustain employment. It encourages companies to provide work placements and training courses assisting the homeless back into work. Studzinski promotes and encourages corporate social responsibility, and organized regular visits for businesspeople to see homeless projects in action.[31] The organization changes the perceptions companies have of homelessness and helps homeless people back into employment.[31]

Studzinski has also long decried the rising rates of youth unemployment, especially in the wake of the recession, and has called upon businesses and governments to focus on youth employment.[28][54] He points to the model of Germany and its continued post-war economic success and weathering of the global economic crisis, noting that its emphasis on medium-sized companies – and concomitant values of the right to work, job creation, client satisfaction, and product excellence – have kept unemployment, including youth unemployment, low.

Human rights[edit]

Studzinski is Vice Chair of Human Rights Watch (HRW),[56] and he developed the European arm of the organization.[20][57] He has also been director of HRW, a member of its executive committee, and chairman of its investment committee.[30][58][59][60][61] He has stated that his involvement in Human Rights Watch is an extension of his strong belief in "respect for humanity, justice and dignity. Human dignity, the respect for human life and dignity".[8] As a board member of HRW, Studzinski has used his international contacts to help the organization expand so that it can draw attention to atrocities across the world, including in Syria and the Middle East.[33]

I don't trust any of those upper crust New Yorkers. And I grew up there! They'll run you over in their limo in their rush to get to their helicopter to fly to their Hamptons estate.

It's a skin treatment people get to minimize wrinkles. They tend to overdo it, and it gives skin that shiny look.

A clear giveaway is that waxy look so pervasive in trophy wives. But microdermabrasion can also have that shiny affect.

I am glad I asked! Lots of informed people here!
I was so glad to read about the "sick" man (can't go back to his name while responding). I know the lights are hot but still think he was not feeling well.

And I doubt Trump's remarks helped that sick feeling. I was just sick listening to Tr so badly misread the audience and bring his awful stuff there. Of course, Hillary did not bring fainting violet stuff either.
