2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumThere's a way to prove the Comey story is effectively over. Google Trends
Let's face it. We live in our intense little bubble as hyper-partisans. My arms hurt from holding my phone and checking stories. I think it's safe to say that we are pretty much out of our minds.
So what is everybody else thinking about? We don't have to speculate. Google has a way to show you exactly what is going on and Google says that the Clinton/Comey fiasco is over.
Click on the link below and you will see the Comey spike on Friday. Internet traffic for Clinton searches is now back to normal. You'll have to scroll down a bit and wait for the graph to load, but you'll see it.

So what are people looking at? Google will tell you that as well. It's probably going to blow your mind. So the next time that you panic about what Anderson Cooper or Brian Williams are talking about, just know that nobody else seems to give much of a damn. At all. Although there is some good news to follow.

The top stories trending right now in the USA...
1. Chicago Bears/Jay Cutler
2. Phoenix Suns
3. Rick James?
Yes, there will be more drips. Yes, we will freak out more. But we might be mostly alone in our emotional discomfort.
There's some good news, though. The highest ranking political search seems to be related to Trumps secret Russian serving server.

Yes, the talking heads aren't talking about Trump's Alpha server. But of the people who give a damn about politics, it's the top search.
By the way, is there any way Brian Williams can stop saying "Um?" My goodness, he says that word 70 times in 30 minutes.

(11,833 posts)For many things. Among them, trying to explain to folks here that most people who vote for democrats or even consider voting for democrats care more about policies that will improve their lives & the lives of others than they do about stupid emails.

(11,467 posts)I realize that the best thing is for the story just to go away, but I also want to see it (and Comey) thoroughly discredited. I want there to be a clear message that anyone who peddles these phony scandals - either as a main proponent or a mere stooge - knows that they will be called out for it. Letting it fade away avoids that outcome.
It's time to fight back once and for all.

(135,425 posts)and blackmail, for starters. The Comey nexus is that he has had this information for MONTHS, and it has national security implications that are quite serious.
That email pancake has been flipped, and it's Trump dancing on the griddle now.

Thirdly: No one sets up a dummy email server ^twice^
The commenter is exactly right about this. Why set up a dummy email server twice? Not only that, it's obvious by the action that there was SOMETHING going on with the first server, or why would it have been shut down? We've already seen where Trump and his organizations routinely destroy email and digital evidence that would be considered harmful to him, in the matter of the many, many lawsuits that have been filed against him over the years.

(3,814 posts)its up to Team H/Dems to change the narrative, by unloading something on Trump that the media will run with, which is what they should've done in the first place in anticipation of Comey's stunt so that it would've been buried and far less of a story (just as Wikileaks was buried by the Access Hollywood tapes).

This is more important to me than reading about the non-scandal dumps by FBI rectum Comey.
