Anybody want to set up a crowd fund right now? I'll put in chunk. I'm sure Karen McDougal has an interesting story to tell. (I'm kidding, FYI. It won't be necessary anyway)

The National Enquierer bought the story too cheap. According to the WSJ McDougal fully expected her story to go live a few months ago but the Enquirer buried it. She's not shy.

Shouldn't take more than an hour to fully fund. And if you think the story isn't going anywhere it is top of the feed on Google news.

I actually agree that retroactive prosecution isn't cool. However, after the Trumo attacks on Bill the story goes more to his credibility than his sexual proclivity.

My guess is that the crowd fund isn't terribly necessary. Lawyers are probably talking to her lawyers now. It will be hard for her to turn down the type of cash that might be offered to her.

7. Affairs are still a big deal politically. It's not true that no one will care.

Remember how relieved we were that Edwards' affair came out before he had ever been nominated? That kind of thing still matters. Particularly in areas where he is close in the race, this could easily cost him. The fact it's so late means he'll have no time to recover.

One of Edwards' strengths in addition to his looks was his relationship with a smart, serious woman who he married and was supporting as she dealt with cancer. Not to mention, it was CURRENT as he ran. Abother difference is that he dropped out because he was losing badly everywhere.

With Trump, it is known and apparently does not bother his moral voters that he clearly cheated on both his former wives with their successor. Adding that he cheated on Melania in the first year of their marriage does not really add to anything. Not only is it 10 years ago, I doubt Melania engenders the outrage that cheating on Elizabeth did.

I'm talking about the concept of an affair scandal breaking during a Presidential campaign and the fact that's not nothing. I was using the reaction to his scandal breaking during the primaries as an example of how people react to affairs during presidential campaign season. Showing how it's still an issue. If affairs didn't matter anymore, no one would have cared because that wasn't that long ago, relatively speaking.

If you want an example - use Gary Hart, who was a potential winner and dropped out over allegations. Alternatively use Clinton, who was accused of an affair years before and it did not hurt him much at all. With Hart and Edwards, the fact that they were current made them worse.

Given his history, I doubt this even impacts his relationship with Melania - she knew what she married.

There have been many November surprises through the years. Friday night before election day seems like it's a notorious day to turd dump like GWB drunk driving.
