Democrats, take heart. In the last three days, I worked as a poll observer at five different early voting locations around Las Vegas, and I am here to report that the Nevada State Democratic Party is a well-oiled machine. They are smart, professional, and organized better than any campaign I've ever worked on. Ever. (And I've worked on a lot of campaigns)
HRC volunteers are trained well, we were sent to the places we were needed, we were made to feel useful. Campaign staff are likable and good at motivating us, and they are using cutting edge technology to make the best use of our time.
The Trump poll watchers, by contrast, didn't seem too sure about why they were there, except to stir up sh*t and watch the Democrats very closely. Some of them know the rules about early voting, and some of them do not. At every polling place, we outnumbered the Trump observers two- or three-to-one. And while the Democrat poll watchers are all attorneys, most of the Trump observers are not. There is a significant education gap.
I am going to work my ass off until Tuesday to get this Nasty Woman elected. And it's encouraging to see just how good the Clinton campaign is out here. Makes me feel like my time is well spent.

(9,333 posts)work a few shifts - which I'm going to do. I usually do campaign work but have 2 jobs now so its tough to find the hours. I've never seen anywhere near this type of activity in my area (which is 60% Republican) or in any area I've lived in for that matter. I just moved less than a year ago and they knew where I was.

(11,816 posts)The young people at our local HQ are smart and well organized. I dropped in one afternoon when I found myself with some time, and they quickly had me at work doing clerical stuff, signed me up to work an event, and signed me up for canvassing today. If they don't go into politics their upsell skills will be in demand in any company in the nation!
