In my opinion... Donating to Jill Stein for a Re-Count is a Potential Scam of sorts.

I voice caution here....We as Democrats are extremely emotionally vulnerable...we always talk about he gods fight.... we are great grassroots donors. We are perfect for the picking and draining of our little wallets....Opportunist smell the pain we are experiencing...

I would love to have a re-count, change the outcome as I feel there has been voter tampering....That said, we also need to have a Democratic leader take the recount option ...not a candidate that was an election spoiler, knowing she was a spoiler....I don't trust Stein....

Buyer Beware in my opinion.

1. Last night Chris Hayes reported that Hillary

has "passed" on a recount....I'm hoping she's just saying that for now, waiting to see if others take up the cause and come up with results substantial enough to make a challenge worthwhile.

14. She is not just saying it. Since 1993 when she first introduced her healthcare plan, she has

been lied about, slandered, libeled, and treated like dirt with some of the most vile remarks coming from the right and left, and promoted by the MSM

This country has done her a great disservice, as they have toward President Obama the last 8 years.

KARMA's is going to be a real drag in the next four years

fasten your seat belts, we are all in store for a bumpy ride

52. She gains potentially hundreds of thousands of names for a donor list in 2020 ...

plus funds are to her presidential campaign fund so anything beyond the recount would be fair game for her next election campaign. Throw in the fact that in 2020 I am sure she will be crowing about being the only one to stand up against the system which will net her some votes.

So on one hand I agree she is doing this for herself but if the recount turns up something it can help.

6. Agree ... however

No fan of Stein/Baraka here! But many have been urging Hillary to make this move. Because of the way we all hit back at Trump for suggesting that he might not accept the results it is better for her and the Democratic Party not to take the lead (can you imagine the charges on Fox and the MSM of hypocrisy). Let it develop from this angle. It seems to be developing organically starting with that group of computer scientists. Meanwhile the public is becoming aware of Hillary's two million vote lead. During the recounts the Russian connections of the Trumps can be exposed to more people.

The chances are probably not great that they overturn the Electoral College, however many other bad aspects of our voting systems can be exposed along with the search for hacks: awareness of voter suppression in registration, inadequate numbers of voting sites, etc. etc.,

Your point is well taken, though, to be wary of where Jill Stein may try to take this. I am just glad this action is being taken and enthusiastically donated.

BTW This is AOL's lead story at this time.

22. Because in MI and WI, only a candidate can request a recount.

That is my understanding based on this:

http://www.politico.com/story/2016/11/recount-rules-battleground-states-2016-presidential-election-231013

Michigan: A mandatory recount if 2,000 votes or less separate the top two candidates. Candidates can petition for a recount due to fraud or a counting error.

Wisconsin: Any candidate can request a recount within three days of completion of the initial tally. The recount is free to the requesting candidate if the margin of victory is less than 0.5 percent, otherwise it must be paid for in advance.

Pennsylvania: Automatic recount when vote margin is less than 0.5 percent. Voters can petition county boards for a recount. Voters or candidates can petition courts for a recount.

That page I linked implies that no one has the right to request a recount in Florida. Elsewhere, it says that a losing candidate can send in a written request for a recount, and then the county canvassing board decides whether to do a recount. This implies that each county would be handled separately. I'm not sure, though.

Gore had members of the Congressional Black Caucus begging to oppose the Florida vote count certification with excellent evidence to back their claims. The powers-that-be in the Party convinced Gore to stand down, and he (as well as all of the other Democratic Senators) refused to recognize them, blocking them from giving official testimony.

using the $1 billion she raised from Banks and Lobbyists to do a recount? Or some of her $200 million net worth?

Why does a Green party candidate have to raise funds from the general public to help out because she feels something fishy was happening?
