I'm sick of Dems being nice

Last edited Sat Nov 26, 2016, 11:01 AM - Edit history (1)

I want a fighter, a firebrand. We need someone who can call out the GOP for the liars and assholes and psychopaths they are, and really frame liberal issues strongly. We have such a great case.

We need people who can grab the attention of the media.

Why can't we have that?

Or does the media just not allow such people on TV?

Added on 11/26: Another thing is why do GOPers get in power and then govern from the far right, whereas when Dems get in power, they always govern from the middle? This pisses me off no end.

Another question is-- how much do we want to be like the GOP assholes in style? Is it better to be nice and lose or play rough and dishonestly and win?

1. Only on right wing media is this allowed. And only right wingers are allowed to do it.

Or so it seems.

5. Because the Democrats are the responsible adults.

And the Republicans are the irresponsible party of silly slogans.

3. What the Repubs did well...

Scare the living crap out of everyone. People are only now getting scared because they fear what Donald will do. If only we'd have done that before.

Maybe CNN or MSNBC should try the old Fox News con. ALERT! ALERT! ALERT! Scare the pants off of their viewers. Hey, maybe even exaggerate a little. (Except Fox never stops at a little.)

9. It seemed to me people were plenty of scared before the election of what he would do

and Hillary certainly based much of her campaign on amplifying those fears (such as do we trust Trump with nuclear weapons)

13. This is will agree with. Watching CNN during the elections months

was watching the righteous being fileted up one side down the other by a bunch of people who were liars.

16. Trump surrogates.

They were relentless with their messaging.

Dem surrogates were like watching a bunch of too polite people not calling a lie a lie. When something is a lie. Call it that damn.

Paul Begala and David Axelrod were useless dolts.

21. Ah, yes. We need better surrogates. That would help, probably.

However, Trump had terrible surrogates-- they were a joke, a nonsensical, idiotic laughing stock. And he still won???

17. Two words..."Dean scream"

How did Democrats react to this non-scandal created by Fox News? They buckled. Endless calls, from Democrats mind you, for Dean to apologize.

This is what happens when you let Republicans and right wing corporate media frame all your issues and narratives. And this is why we can't have nice things.

20. Well the first step is to

Lose lots and lots of elections so everybody recognizes the problem. On that front we're doing pretty good. After that I'm not sure but it probably involves purging corporate influence within the party.

19. I agree we need people like that, but we already do have 1 person who fits that bill: Bernie Sanders

Bernie has been like that all his life/career. I'm not gonna sit here and say he could've won the general election for sure, but if we want to win in the future, we absolutely need a significant number of people just like him who will fight fire with fire while being truthful about it at the same time.

generation of outspoken progressive pols.
