I hate to say it, but where are congressional Dems? They should be in front of cameras 24/7 telling everyone. Can you imagine if a dem tried to pull this shit.

...an infinite number of ways: swiftboating, voter suppression, fake news, idiotic investigations, destroying reputations, fake unidentified sources, Comey, hacking, voter registration suppression, Supreme Court intervention into Constitutionally state issues, oN and on forever. The problem is also there is a snowball effect...the more they win and gain power and control, the easier it is to win.

I haven't figured out the solution yet- how we turn the Titanic around. I'm encouraged by the aggressive news cycles the last couple of days; the drop in the stock market the last couple of days (being referred to as the Trump risk factor) and that wakes people up; the late night comedian focus (which really helped Obama, but they did this equivalent time thing with hillary v DT); and that he has made such a buffoon of himself lately that no one but KellyAnne Conwoman is defending him.

I saw this on the Washington Post https://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/plum-line/wp/2017/01/12/there-will-be-an-investigation-of-james-comeys-conduct-we-might-get-some-accountability-after-all/?utm_term=.25630ca46fd1

UPDATE: Amy Jeffress, a former senior Justice Department official and currently an attorney at Arnold & Porter Kaye Scholer, emails more detail on whether this probe could be closed down under Trump:

The Inspector General Act authorizes the Attorney General to interfere with an IG investigation under certain exceptional circumstances, one of which relates to intelligence matters, which arguably could apply here. But the Attorney General would have to find that action is “necessary to prevent the significant impairment to the national interests of the United States” (and there are congressional notification requirements as well). I can’t think of any precedent for taking this step, and politically it would be hugely controversial, and therefore unlikely.

It may be harder that we think for Trump to block this investigation

BTW Comey is pond scum

Probably. They may be doing it just to clear him, as they are also investigatino some Clinton related stuff.
Now, he is less likely to resign, unfortunately. There were a lot of factors in losing the election, but he was the final hard blow (as well as many by him in between ). How can he stand himself? I hope he goes to prison, and I usually want to pardon everyone and reset. He is as smug as DT, and maybe more mendacious, plotting.
DT can't hold a thought long enough to plot, which is why he needed Bannon

Most of the heads of intelligence like Clapper are political appointees who will be replaced by Trump with people he will expect will tell him what he wants to hear. He will instruct them to shut down any investigations where he is targeted.

Regardless of what we think of him, Comey thinks of himself as an honorable man, who will stand up to Trump as needed and he is appointed for a 10 year term. If Comey is forced to resign, Trump will put in his own guy to be FBI Director.

The only advantage of Comey is he might have to tow the line now and be less reckless, since he's been caught. He tries to project himself as honorable. No honorable person would do what he did after an election started, with such bs to back him up. That is 3rd world. Plus, he withheld REALLY IMPORTANT stuff on DT, that clearly disqualified him 4 office.

Someone personally picked by Trump to make sure that the new appointee would not dare confront him with evidence of the Russians hacking or with the possibility that the Russians have blackmail information on him.

We have to look beyond simple payback - Trump is going to be in office 4 years, unless he is impeached first. If there is ever reason for impeachments we don't want a "yes man" running the FBI.
