2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumTo all those at DU please e mail MSNBC below to get Russert Jr.off the air.
Hes like a guy who never played a fucking down in football telling people how to play the game. He really stunk up the screen tonight after Obamas press conference. Promising his audience that certain things are going to happen down line with the debt cliff. He doesnt know shit and certainly shouldnt be promising his audience anything. Smiling Punk....

When I see Luke Russert, I always immediately change the channel.
He has no talent or depth. A complete fraud.

(90,556 posts)Needs to work in the company mailroom for awhile longer. He has not managed to grow into this job sufficiently.

(6,942 posts)Please remove Luke Russert. He has no talent and would not be working at MSNBC had it not been for his Dad Tim.
We dont need entitled twits inflating disinformation.
Get him off MSNBC.
Thank you

(76 posts)Simply put, not everyone understands how everything works in Politics, unlike yourself it seems. I'm wondering why you're not beating the door down to replace him yourself? Oh noooo we don't like him whaaaaa whaaaaa he doesn't spew our rhetoric whaaaaa. Granted, I don't affix myself to the television like a hawk with nothing better to do, so I have only watched him report 15-20 times. Carry on, you have more complaining to do on your other posts.

(7,573 posts)and are not other DUers allowed to defend someone? You have your opinion....as others have theirs
I am sure other DUers would defend Luke as well...but not so they can be put down so you can dump of them...you remind me of the right-wing nuts that post on HP....
busterbrown
(8,515 posts)We are in the battle of our lives against political forces who have an immense power to take this country down. We dont need a young nice men to incorrectly report whats happening....

(76 posts)Scream as loud as possible that you don't like something over and over again. I was just going to post that buster is acting like the RW nuts I deal with on a daily basis.

(62,379 posts)jeez - he is just lousy, better suited to a frat than a newscast.

(34,333 posts)You don't have a problem with his glaring incompetence? Seriously? Wow. As as woman, he offends me and as a person who appreciates quality journalism, he is a dismal failure.

(24,207 posts)he is the pet of that network.
It is the best we have, but the entire main stream media is so stuck in its back slapping, self appreciating nature. And, even at NBC/MSNBC, they love themselves too much to be honest. Lukie is the sainted Tim's son, and we are stuck with him because of it.

(10,951 posts)Luke Russert is an example why nepotism does not belong in the news room. Russert has not earned his bona fides and needs to be sent straight to the minor leagues. If he was not the son of Tim Russert there is no way that MSNBC would be giving him air time. When he comes on MSNBC I change the channel.
Ilsa
(61,690 posts)Stated it well.
I'm not inclined to urge any employer to fire someone, but he isn't ready for primetime. He doesn't belong on Capitol Hill, IMO.
I turned him off last night after hearing two or three sentences of nonsense.

(1,734 posts)A corporate son of white privilege parroting "centrist" corporate talking points for Comcast's media arm, M$NBC.
There's an easy way to avoid spoiled frat boys like Russert: don't watch corporate media...

(45,319 posts)I simply can not respect nor take seriously any of those who pretend Luke is a journalist worthy of the job. Yep, that means Rachel and while he was there, it meant Keith as well.
Turn them all off. Tell them why. None of them is better than their weakest link.

(76 posts)that certain posters are going to kick and scream and yell loudly if they don't hear someone on MSNBC echo a radical stance that will get nothing legislative done.

He doesn't belong. The job was some kind of "sorry your old man died" bribe. He has zero talent, plus, he's a dumbass shitbird, to put it bluntly.

(2,124 posts)I don't have a problem with this guy.
The OP's post is full of anger- I don't get it. What did he do that's so bad that you would take the time to send a message to try and get somebody fired?
busterbrown
(8,515 posts)depend on the right message coming out of a reporters mouth. Just ask the people who were about to have their unemployment benefits curtailed in the last round of negotiations. Lukes slant has been to let everyone know how much trouble the president is in and how strong the republican position is......
This guy was awful the minutes after the President's speech on tues, promising over and over again to his audience, that Obama was in deep trouble.......We deserve better!!!!! Yea when peoples financial security are on the line, we deserve someone who knows what the hell is going on not someone who acts like hes calling a high school football game!!!!...
HawkeyeLibkid
(76 posts)Whoever reported me as a "Foxbot" or whatever that would be. You got me! I'm a Liberal, Registered Democrat in the great state of Iowa, which constitutes me being a Foxbot. We get it, you hate Luke and can do better, so instead of wasting kilobytes of space sending e-mails that are going to get nothing done, send your Resume in to fill his position. I'm sure you would be a shoe in. Don't like him, hit mute. Don't agree with his "stance", look elsewhere. Nobody is forcing you to tune into MSNBC.
busterbrown
(8,515 posts)Incidentally, I dont hate Luke. I dont know Luke. He is probably a nice kid. I hate that MSNBC
a station which is supported by mostly millions of progressive democrats has put him on the air.

(12,296 posts)... never could stand Chris Matthews. Lawrence O'Donnell and Rachel Maddow's unquestioning gushing over everything POTUS/the Dems do is insulting, and Rev. Al - while probably the most objective - is still shaky in his delivery & when he's off his game, very difficult to watch.
I've turned to Current: TYT (ooh, the mean, evil Ugyur! He's insulting our precious POTUS! Oh noes!!) and Elliot Spitzer's shows tell it like it is and drop the hammer on BOTH parties when they need it.
