While there is still time call, email your Senators re "Open" filibuster. Stop the "Phone-in" F/B

In the Senate the Dems are considering what action to take regarding the filibuster rule. If you think it would be better if those who want to filibuster do so by taking the floor for an "open" talking filibuster call andor email your Senators while there is still time.


IF the Repubs want obstruct disruption and destruction of all governance (of a Democratic sort) they should have to do it in the light of day - or, at least in the light of a television camera - for all Americans to see.

I think it's important to apply what pressure we can on Dems though, if we want to see this done.

Feinstein, Reed, Boxer, Reid and Pryor so far--Pryor's office didn't allow me the time to express my reasoning--before cutting me off.
Some Dems I call are flat-out rude...I get, actually positive responses and great debates at times from GOP aides...but Dems? Not so much. Weird.

4. Why Filibuster Reform Is Important

to Me and I hope others:

I am appalled by all lawmakers who object to our (we, the people) access to factual information.
This is our government. We have a messed up façade of MSM that lies, mis-informs, omits information and skews context as routine, IF they even bring an issue to our attention.
This is not a resource for Anyone wanting full factual info re: any/all issues.

Filibuster reform allows the people who choose to engage in governance to do so in a fully informed manner.

We, right now do not have any resource that is credible and reliable on any of the issues, who filibusters, why, what their reasoning is, or to be allowed to review their facts that back up their position and their conclusions.
Moreover when we Do call our lawmakers, it might be weeks and even Months post a vote before we get a response, clearly far too late to receive rebuttal, to review ideas, comsider our suggestions etc.

They, themselves are shielding legislative actions from our prying eyes.

So, I guess for me. (Who btw is a 3rd gen Democrat)-the bigger question is: What are these Reluctant Dems so afraid of, that they are willing to Continue suppressing access to Senate actions, positions, facts, reasoning and conclusions as to what direction they may take our country?
That perhaps they might be seen as “out of touch, dishonest or unqualified and misinformed themselves”?

7. Reform over anti-austerity?

I am all for reform agendas but they do not take precedence over the daunting future cuts that both sides have been convinced to allow. I think we have to put reform on the back burners and force congress to seize the Federal Reserve to produce low interest credit to public works projects and implement a 1% Wall Street Sales Tax.

If Progressives can unify under economic activism for these simple solutions we can crush the Republican party and make it recede back into its regional and racist roots. If we focus on reform that is somewhat ambiguous then we run the risk of allowing the Republicans to buy themselves credibility through the communitarian guise of "working together."

I would say some of the cases for the filibuster law are pretty bad. One of the progressive blogs were talking about the Employee Free Choice Act which is actually a very scary betrayal against labour with the card check.
