The only way that Republicans in an entire region of the country --- the Northeast --- can achieve meaningful representation in the 113th Congress may be by way of a massive party switch. The increasingly rare breed of "moderate House Republicans" may soon only be left with the choice of emulating the late Sen. Arlen Specter's 2009 party switch, by either becoming Democrats or by becoming independents who will caucus with the Democrats.

1. I for one, welcome any and all

though Peter King got what he wanted, as they voted for Sandy relief (finally)
and he wasn't really seriously thinking of moving(though I too would welcome him).

(no different than as a NY Met fan, welcoming a Phillies or even a dreaded Yankee to the team in a trade).

and they vote with us

then in the closest election after that, vote in a better one

but it is getting their vote so that we can vote in anything

I wouldn't want him over a different democrat, but I would want him to convert and give us one more vote

I live in Pa.

We have almost a million more registered democrats than republicans. In this election, the democratic candidates for the House of Representatives had more total votes than the republican candidates. We ended up with 13 of our 18 congressmen being ... Republicans.

PA is not alone in the Northeast in states that have gerrymandering set up in a manner to ensure republicans STRONGLY outperform the actual vote.
