Conservatives run ads vs. McConnell

A conservative advocacy group is targeting Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell with a series of online ads in his home state for helping to negotiate the fiscal cliff deal.

“It’s a statement we’re making and I suspect there will be more statements that are going to be coming out,” said Brent Bozell, president of For America, which is pushing the ads. “It is a statement to make it emphatically clear that what the minority leader did was 100 percent unacceptable. Conservatives are going to hold him responsible for this.”
The ads reads, “Mitch McConnell: Whose side are you on?” with the image of a morose McConnell wedged between pictures of a smiling Vice President Joe Biden and smirking President Barack Obama.

The ad buy is “five figures”and will be distributed through Google display ads and Facebook in Kentucky and also run on The Daily Caller and Drudge Report in Washington, D.C.
McConnell is up for reelection in 2014 and is hoping to fend off a conservative primary challenger.
After fiscal cliff negotiations broke down between House Speaker John Boehner and Obama, McConnell and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid took over negotiations. McConnell called in Biden at the final minute when negotiations reached an impasse. The McConnell-Biden framework ended up becoming the base for a deal.

Bozell, who vocally opposed the fiscal cliff deal that involved tax increases, made clear that his ire is aimed at McConnell for signing off on a deal.
“When Republicans agree to do what they did agree to do, then they are just as much tax-and-spend Democrats as Democrats are,” Bozell said.
“Do I have any confidence that Republicans will stand by [McConnell’s] statements a couple of days ago that the talk about tax increases are over? None,” Bozell said. “It is a fluid situation. There are some serious battles coming up. I’m not writing off anything. If Republicans find their mojo and rediscovered their soul and try to do the right thing, we’ll support them, but they just can’t count on us anymore.”

I don't know what you have to do to please those people. Stomp kittens to death? Throw children into woodchippers?

This is what they get. They're trapped with these crazy people.

dissension within their party is good for us. People like this guy think Boehner and MccConnell are socialists. I mean , is it possible to lean any further right?

All it does is make Republicans that merely like to use the rhetoric from voting for things they know they should. Things that have never been controversial before. They won't just ignore the crazies and do the right thing, they have to act like they are crazy too. It's bad for everyone.

Is there any greater proof of the "Endless Campaign" than ads that come out days after the newly elected Congress is sworn in? I'm no fan of McConnell, but this is creepy and disturbing.

The man has been so well ensconced in a world of connections from his daddy and uncle (William F. Buckley) and spent his entire adult life in the well-funded conservative-activist apparatus that he has his head so far up his ass he coughs up his own hair.

Is nothing but a cesspool full of people incapable of thinking for themselves. I wouldn't expect anything less from a trashbag like Bozell. Go at it, rip him to shreds, please, because we're waiting in the shadows with a real candidate.

Bite his ankles, Bozo! We can only hope you both take McConnell down, and yourself once you sufficiently piss off the Republican establishment for causing losses.

to get in these races no matter the area. We never know what we might get, they will never know if they never try..

Some people may have changed their minds aren't they catching hell like everyone else. Paul Ryan and the rest of these teabaggers may think they are safe when they really aren't.
