2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumI dare Chris Christopher J. Christie to join the Democratic Party
Even though people masquerade as conservatives it doesn't mean to say they can't move to the party of the people.
Joe Scarbs. tells us how conservative he is however for him to win he must become a Democrat.

(7,573 posts)of Charlie Crist....the GOTP has become so extreme.....I would not be surprised to see other Republicans pull away from the GOTP as well

(28,627 posts)so I could see he would benefit even to get a higher 'post'

(9,258 posts)Refused to pass a **millionaires surcharge** in state tax. Is destroying public schools. Turned down stimulus $$ for a rail project which was needed and would have provided hundreds of jobs. Anti-women and anti-choice. Only has to give lip service to being moderate as he is in blue NJ.

(31,798 posts)Getting out there and getting federal funds to help us rebuild is one thing - him taking a top Democratic spot from someone like Sweeney? No way. Not having it.

(10,893 posts)Even though he's been on the money as of late, most of his fiscal policies are so toxic for working class Americans. All he'd do by joining us is drag our party further rightward. He's already doing Democrats a favor by calling out his own party for their unwillingness to play ball.
Mutiny In Heaven
(550 posts)it would be deeply amusing if he did a 'Reverse Reagan, completely switched in every way while blaming his party for leaving him.

(613 posts)Popular Moderate Democratic Governor of a red state-elected in 1990, gave a keynote address at the 1992 DNC Convention, re-elected in 1994. Left office with high favorable ratings, appointed and elected to the US Senate in 2000, became very hostile to the Democratic Party and gives Keynote at the RNC Convention.
Christie-Moderate Republican Governor of a blue state elected in 2009, gives keynote address at the 2012 RNC Convention, gets re-elected in 2013, During his 2nd term he continues to be very hostile to the Republican Party-he gives the keynote at the 2016 DNC Convention goes on FNC and challenges Hannity to a duel.

(12,265 posts)He ran on killing teachers and other public employee unions. Maybe that is ok with you but not with me. He is very likable considering the current climate but he still has an agenda he is pushing and if he gets elected by a large margin, New Jersey had better look out while he uses that to his advantage.

(22,143 posts)Just because he doesn't embrace the religious insanity and bigotry doesn't mean he isn't as bad as Walker, Corbett or any other teabagger.
He's a union busting, people hating factotum of the 1%. Fuck this guy and fuck this idea. Our party is sold out enough as it is.
he may have done some good things during hurricane Sandy, but overall he has done more damage to his state.
