The Swift Boat boys managed to cost Kerry the Presidency from history 30 years before, and he did nothing remotely wrong (neither has Hillary). I think they can manage to have the public remember Benghazi four years from now.

Right or wrong, Hillary will face a greater national security threshold to become the first woman President. Make no mistake, they will attempt to wrap Benghazi around her neck with all the Swift Boat tactics they can think up four years from now.

In 2012 they had no video footage of Hillary Clinton taking responsibility for the death of 4 Americans. They were smart not to have her testify before the election. They have the tape now and will use it. They used tape against John Kerry from 30 years ago very effectively with the Swift Boat Thugs. This was political theater today pure and simple. Hillary was very effective in her testimony but you know 30 second ads will not do justice to her testimony.

But, after four years as Secretary of State, if the worst they can throw at Hillary is Benghazi, you might as well give her the presidency by a margin of at least 150 electoral votes.

How many incidents where diplomats were killed or embassies were attacked under Bush in eight years? There were at least three attacks where eight or more people lost their lives, and several others where people were killed. And, how many people were killed under Reagan when the embassy in Beirut was bombed? 60 something? Not to mention the marines being killed there as well...

I think you make valid points about all the things that happened under GOP regimes. It just seems to me that Republicans have traditionally gotten a pass on their international disasters. How in the world could Reagan get re-elected after Beirut or Bush after 9-11. Democrats have never been given the latitude when it comes to international affairs. The prime example--Jimmy Carter and Desert One. Unfortunately, because Hillary is trying to become the first woman President, and is also a democrat, she will have additional barriers in regards to national security she must overcome. I believe this is why she voted in favor of Bush's invasion of Iraq to inoculate herself against being "soft" on defense or national security.

I hope the posts that disagree with me about her testimony are right and they can't hang it on her. I wanted to raise a concern about what I think the Republicans are up to in terms of her testimony. A cursory review of the thug new sites show they have already conflated her testimony over her "it doesn't matter" remark. I have enjoyed our trading of ideas.

Any member of Foreign Relations Committee that challenged Hillary put themselves at risk if they are up for re-election in 2014 or 2016. Or if they decide to run for President.

Johnson challenged by Kerry on whether he attended to intel briefings would be a major problem for his re-election for Senate.

The Rethugs just spent several times more on ads and publicity back in November than the Dems spent.

The Rethugs still lost the election.
