problem with Facebook’s Zuckerberg hosting a fundraiser for Chris Christie

When you’re wasting time on Facebook, don’t forget that the boss of the company, Mark Zuckerberg, is funding the destruction of teacher’s unions, and supporting a politician who is strongly against marriage equality.

It’s beyond me why any liberal would want to help fund Zuckerberg and his destructive politics but then again, it’s beyond me why liberals support quite a few anti-liberal Democrats.

unlike Mike Bloomberg, who the person is a very to the left liberal, though as mayor he has a job to do that conflicts sometimes

Chris Christie IS and always was a conservative republican and doesn't even pose about it

Then came Hurricane Sandy.
Damn good job he did in the immediate days
and then the gas crunch, the panic, fear...and he immediately put in rationing, put cops in all the open gas stations, and the problem went away in one day. ONE DAY

and the iconic pix with President Obama

and the iconic hug from Bruce Springsteen who avoided a handshake for years let alone a hug

and the coming in the early summer iconic photo of Christie, most likely with the President and with Springsteen, on the rebuilt boardwalk(will they in time build a new coaster too?)

Does that change MY opinion of him?
HELL NO.
But the people in general in NJ love him. He has his reelection clinched.
Can't win the republlican nomination in 2016, but he may just be Jeb's VP.

Zuckie?
I don't know his politics at all, he never was interested in politics, though did sign up as a democratic voter in 2008, but has he ever voted?

I am not a fan of facebook myself much, because if I have free time, or multi-task, I do it here and have no extra time for facebook, and personally I find it hard to navigate so I don't bother except if I desparately need to look at someone elses for some reason or other and only can do that there and no where else.

So in general, I mostly applaud Mike Bloomberg, but except for Sandy, have NOTHING to applaud Chris christie on.
And never did. I didn't vote for him. I held my nose and voted for Corzine.
But not enough others did.

BTW-word to the wise-Corzine made some nasty ads putting Christie down for his weight.
They were not even close to good natured.
Christie's popularity rose when that happened, because it made (or Christie made) it look like Corzine was a bully.
Keep that in mind when it gets serious.
He will and does use his weight as a handicap, and well, nobody likes a handicapped person being made fun of.
Best to focus on his politics and not get personal, because he readily uses it.
And it would only help him rise in the polls.
Remember so many in America are obsese and struggling to lose weight.

Since when?

When he restricted protesters to the 2004 GOP convention so as not to embarass his buddy George W. Bush?

When he cracked down on the occupy movement to protect his buddies on Wall street?

When he tries to turn the NYS public school system into 100% charter schools so he can fire union teachers?

Bloomberg may have progressive views on gun control, but most big city mayors (conservative and liberal) do as well. But he is in no way a liberal.

He banned smoking in bars before it was commonly accepted. He forced restaurants to put up calorie information on their meals which I wholeheartedly approve of.

He is not a liberal - very much a mixed bag with some very liberal views and some corporate views.

Edit: also a very strong supporter of Planned Parenthood.

[font color="navy" face="Verdana"]I've had a like-hate ambivalence with Facebook from the beginning, but now the hate's winning again.

Used to be on MySpace until it got too unwieldy and slow to function. Timberlake and his partners have been cleaning up and revamping MySpace, but it seems to be still more oriented towards the music industry than regular people. I'd switch back, anyway, but all of my family and friends are on stupid Facebook.

He is a walking, talking, breathing example of the adage that money can't buy class, grace, social intelligence, or common sense.

You've got to wonder what the asshole is thinking? He's alienating half of his customer base, at a minimum--probably more, since Dems are a bit more literate than Republicans.

i mean the national party facebook page is still up as is the whitehouse page. everyone one of my progressive pages from across america and overseas are still working fine this morning. i did notice that facebook was used in many political actions across the world and here in america. i have at least 20 liberal-progressive along with other pages that might be deemed liberal.

so i guess we should stop funding our democratic underground facebook page?

That was the sentiment a friend of mine said when I asked which social media site I should use to promote myself.

I chose LinkedIn, an outfit for professionals. Strictly business.

Last year my cousin's husband ran for political office in Oklahoma. I decided to see if he had a campaign site on Facebook, he did. I decided to check out who he had friended. OMG! Sally Kern, the most batshit craze person in Oklahoma State government. Did I vote for my cousin's husband? Heck no!

I would never vote for anyone with any type of connection to Sally Kern.

I mentioned this to some friends at work. It had never occurred to them to look at a political campaign Facebook page for information.
