GOP believe they have the right to slow down the economy

House Republicans say they are feeling invulnerable in the current clash. Not only can they point to last year’s bills to replace the cuts, but redistricting has made most of them immune to political threats and entreaties. For many representing conservative districts where the president holds little sway, an attack by Mr. Obama is a badge of honor, senior Republican House aides say.

of the Republicans refusing to acknowledge that there are other opinions than their own. Our "Rep." is John Carter who really couldn't keep his seat except for gerrymandering. He is widely hated by all but true believers and Tea Partiers (a redundancy?).

We really do need a LOYAL OPPOSITION but we don't have one and Republicans are closer to traitors than anything else.

Especially in state legislatures and Governorships. That allowed the gerrymandering that created a whole lot of Republican politicians who are now immune to any challenge in their home districts. As such, they have no political incentive to work with the President. We will not be able to really fix this until 2020. Until then, we are in for rough sailing.

we need to gain control of legislative bodies we have lost or at least make it so Republicans have to negotiate at the state level.

I don't see it happening. I hope to be pleasantly surprised, but it is a faint hope, at best.

Texas. There has been no Democrat who can get a real foothold in our executive branch and of course we have some of the dumbest Congressmen ever. Many other states have been dominated by the GOP for at least 10 years so the gerrymandering didn't get them seats it only keeps them from being voted out unless there would be a massive uprising of non-voters in their districts.

and they will damn the government for doing this to them but it's guaranteed that they won't blame the GOP.
They are certain to lay all the blame on Obama and be done with it.

As always reality has no place in Republican politics even if denial brings misery and suffering.
