SAHIL KAPUR JUNE 4, 2013, 11:35 AM
Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) on Tuesday introduced a constitutional amendment aimed at invalidating the individual mandate to buy health insurance under Obamacare.
The text of the Right To Refuse amendment, according to Rubios office: Congress shall make no law that imposes a tax on a failure to purchase goods or services.
ObamaCare is a disastrous policy that is not only destructive to job creation, it will also unleash the corrupt and scandal-ridden IRS on taxpayers simply for not buying health insurance, Rubio said in a statement.
He invoked the Internal Revenue Scandal two more times in his press release, timed as Congress was set to hold another hearing into its improper targeting of conservative groups.

(12,904 posts)My husband and I were arguing yesterday about how awesome Obamacare (I told them not to call it that) is going to be.
He says "I'll just have to wait and see".
I said "I can't wait to see what will happen when every health insurance customer in my town has an extra $500-1000 bucks to spend every month. Plus, they will all have health coverage which they can actually afford to use".
It was a quiet ride home the rest of the way.

(3,003 posts)This amendment doesn't have two-thirds majority support in the House or even a simple majority in the Senate, nor does it have anywhere near the minimum number of required states needed to ratify it (38), but Rubio's putting it on the table anyway? Talk about an attempt to placate the tea-baggers who are pissed at him for pushing for immigration reform.
