The Right to Equal Pay for Equal Work
June 10, 2013 | 2:55 | Public Domain

Did You Know That Women Are Still Paid Less Than Men? In 1963, President Kennedy signed the Equal Pay Act but till this day full-time working women are still paid, on average, less than men. This significant gap is more than a statistic -- it has real life consequences. When women, who make up nearly half the workforce, bring home less money each day, it means they have less for the everyday needs of their families, and over a lifetime of work, far less savings for retirement. Learn more about how President Obama is tackling this issue: http://www.whitehouse.gov/equalpay

The history of President Kennedy's signing. Fifty years ago. Amazing!

We have come a long way, but yes we can go further! Together we will!

Women together! The President at our side.

I hadn't heard the "Natasha" in a long time. My friend up here on the 3rd Floor has a doggie named "Mr Peabody" and she kind of reminds me of Natasha.

The policy is no pets but Peabody got in.. he's a rare dog who doesn't bark and is the sweetest little thing.

Thanks, she~ Very much strong like her Mom, Dad, and Sis, Malia~ What a Fam.

I got a kick out of this from Nancy..

"Cha --

I'm not sure if you were alive when President Kennedy signed the Equal Pay Act 50 years ago today.

I was a recent Trinity College graduate (here's a picture of me with President Kennedy from just a couple years before to prove it):

President Kennedy called the Equal Pay Act "a first step" to ending the widespread practice of paying women less than men for the same amount of work. And that's exactly what it was: a first step."

Good Morning, she
