A theme emerges when you take it all in~

The SCOTUS decision to basically gut the Voting Rights Act.

DOMA is unconstitutional and equal marriage returns to California.

The awakening of Texas Democrats with the Wendy Davis filibuster.

The Senate passes Comprehensive Immigration Reform 68-32 to shouts of "Yes We Can" from Dreamers in the gallery. Please proceed Speaker Boehner.

President Obama's trip to Africa and images like this.

Minority Leader Pelosi wants to craft the "John Lewis Voting Rights Act."

George Zimmerman's murder trial and the trashing of Rachel Jeantel.

The passive/aggressive embrace of victimhood by Southern white women as demonstrated by Paula Deen's racism and apology tour.

Does anyone else notice a theme? Yep. "There's something happening here" and its really important that we get the big picture right.

among the Democratic Party base from the white male, straight patriarchy (really the GOP). Dividing white gays/lesbians and blacks (DOMA), dividing white women and blacks (Deen, affirmative action), and dividing Hispanics and blacks. We must not fall for this new Southern Strategy. We must stay vigilant and fight back!!

3. Here is my dilemma

This OP reminds me of one of the main reasons I voted for Obama. Yes, I wanted an end to

the wars, healthcare reform, human rights for for all citizens, immigration reform, an end to

our dependence on fossil fuels etc. I didn't expect to get all of that in 8 years but at the very least

a strong move in that direction. If Obama was about fusion politics and we were to survive the

battle scars of the third reconstruction movement so be it, because until we are all truly free nothing

we dream for this country will ever materialize. We are divided and the bastards will always use that

to conquer one piece of our heart and soul at a time.

My dilemma is, I'm not observing Obama doing a damn thing about "Southern Politics" along with the

other issues mentioned.

I recommend everyone watch the video at the link. If that were to be Obama's legacy it would sooth

so much of the regret and disappointment many feel. I'm just not seeing Obama and the rest of the

Democrats fighting that battle, and I don't believe the African-American community is seeing it either.

Dr. Barber is leading the Moral Mondays protest marches here in NC in opposition to the assault
by the Republican dominated legislature on education, unemployment, the poor,
voting rights, health care, and now women's health care.
