Has racism and other bigotries finally fractured the Republican party?

Finally?

Don't know how much the So. Carolina primary will play in the big picture. Has gotten a lot of press this week, of course.

What's struck me are the verbal attacks on the least represented of us all. And the blithe assumption that we are a nation that discounts the working poor, single parents, struggling families, the unemployed, ethnic and racial minorities, gays, food stamp support for groceries, school lunch programs...I just don't see how they can parlay that blatancy into some kind of national coalition.

It's all about Obama for them. The nation be damned. He must be defeated at all costs. Pathetic politics and poor citizenship.

(ed for clarity)

Hate on Parade. There were just no words - and it was absolutely fascinating in a sociology/antfarm kinda way.

One can only hope this is a permanent fracture. Karma at its finest, eh?

of that party seem to delight in being ignorant and bigotted. They applaud ugliness and overt sociopathy.
