"Filibuster" is an old Dutch word for "Free-booter or Pirate."

And that is exactly what the unprecedented Republican obstructionalism and massive abuse of that rule is, piracy. It is the theft of the treasure of democracy: civil discourse and deliberation.

The Senate should have dealt with these thieves the same way President Obama dealt with pirates, quickly and decisively.

Now let's get things moving.
