Ron Barber to mark Gabby Giffords anniversary

Arizona Rep. Ron Barber will deliver remarks on the House floor Wednesday to commemorate the third anniversary of the shooting in Tucson that left then-Rep. Gabrielle Giffords one of 12 injured and claimed the lives of six others.

Barber was district director for Giffords during the time of the shooting, which took place at a Congress On Your Corner event in Northwest Tucson.

The speech will be followed by a moment of silence to honor the victims of the shooting, according to a statement from the Congressman’s office, and is set to begin during the first series of House votes at 11 a.m.
