What happens when candidates are certified with less signatures than required by law?
TRENTON — Instead of suspending the city clerk, officials opted to provide help.
After much heated discussion Tuesday and meeting behind closed doors for an hour, council members voted to hire a consultant to assist city Clerk Richard Kachmar with the May 13 election.
