98 days to go; CA-10 Modesto, Turlock weekend canvas. Also, a non-political way to feed people, FREE

Yep, we're in the double digits before November, and mostly, someone has to knock on doors and phone people to see if they know an election is coming up. Really. Those of us around here who care about November, the House, the Senate kinda have to let the regular people know that there's an election, and it matters. So today and probably again this week there will be an Eggman post. But there will also be GOODIES!

So, Michael Eggman is running for the CA-10 house seat, and he has a shot. He actually has a website, a Facebook page and a Twitter account, which is a good sign, since the 2012 "Democratic candidate" for the house in 2012's NV-02 didn't have any of that, didn't have a staff, didn't have a campaign. So, right away, we have a winner in the making. Plus, he's a farmer who makes money from bees. Environmental issues that kill bees? Hey, he's our guy. They have some kind of campaign op happening, I'll know more after this weekend when I'm signed up to walk a precinct in Modesto. (Anyone know of a good place to eat in Modesto? I'm Chinese, so I'm not looking for a Chinese place...)

Oh, and your free goodie. You can help feed people in your free time by not playing an online game or an offline game but by going to http://freerice.com It's ten grains of rice for every vocabulary question you get right, some of the answers past level 40 are debatable, but, hey its better than Solitaire, and how much free porn can you download anyway?

And, hey, free rice is a good idea, but here's another; https://secure.actblue.com/entity/fundraisers/34529

Good luck to Mr. Eggman. He sounds like the right candidate to represent over there.

On Staniford St.

Best restaurant in town, Greek.

I had the pleasure....(gag me) of living there for 2 yrs....

Let's just say I was from napa and Santa Rosa, so it wasn't easy to make friends. Mostly I was in culture shock. My husband commuted to Bay Area and I transferred from AAA in Santa Rosa to there.

It was hard for me and I moved us back to Bay Area before we retired 9 years ago to WA state in the mountains...yet another area of republicanville. At least here with all the hiking there is chunk of left leaning folks.

Hand it to you for doing politics there. Everyone I worked with was a republican, into country, rodeos, large cars, churches and a ton of kids. I actually got along great with everyone, I lead the employee committee and planned all of our parties and volunteered for the company at yosemite and all over.
