Anyone watch Bill Maher’s Bullshit last night?

There were so many things wrong with this interview, one doesn’t know where to start..But I can start with this.’’’’’’''
Bill, Did I hear you correctly when you said “You might be available for his campaign” In my mind Bill’s potential willingness to help a future Rand Paul Presidential Run shows that he has little idea of the dangers of Libertarianism. Fuck that Bill..

Why did not Bill ask him about his encounter with Rachael Maddow where he absolutely refused to answer the question about Restaurant owner’s having the right to choose who they served based on Color.. (LGBT easily could fall into this as well)....Yea Bill..Ask Rand what his feeling’s about State nullification Rights.

And what about his huge Racist Problem?
http://theweek.com/article/index/246600/rand-pauls-troubling-ties-to-racists..

Point of all this is I have a friend who is a big wig on the show and I emailed her last night and let her know my feelings. She’s a great person, and Bill’s his own boss for sure.. But I couldn’t keep my mouth shut, and she might have a few resentments flying my way this a.m...Bill is supposedly a difficult guy to work with..So it’s not like she needs comments like mine after a tough show.. But Times are very tense now and a President Rand Paul could be a catastrophic event .. I needed to let her know..

1. Once Maher started his New Crusades movement, I turned him off.

We don't need to support public figures who are angling toward a world war against a religion, and that's what Maher is aiming for, despite all his atheist/libertarian tap dancing to the contrary. I think Bill Maher is in the process of going full Dennis Miller on us, and that's the last thing I need at this point. Flick over to MSNBC and watch prison lockup shows, instead; trust me, you'll feel cleaner.

2. Um, what the hell are you talking about?

I strongly disagree with the way Maher is painting Islam, but he isn't angling toward any wars. Just last night he was making the argument that we need to get the hell out of the middle east, let them have their fight and sort out their own future.

Maher's argument regarding Islam was that liberals should be more condemning of the religion because he feels it has bigotry, violence and serious abuses of women ingrained into its fundamental holy writings. Again, I reject his broad brushing of Muslims with that bullshit, but no, he wasn't making an argument "for war". He even criticized Rand Paul last night for saying we need to take down ISIS militarily.

And I guess if Maher is feting the likes of Rand Paul on his show, it's probably time for a return visit from his old galpal, Ann Coulter.

The prison lockup shows on MSNBC look better and better.

5. Well you can stand by being completely wrong if thats what suits you.

This isn't something thats subject to an opinion. Maher is and has been anti-war for years now and he has not broken with the notion that we should stay out of the middle east. His view on Muslims has nothing to do with going to war with Muslims, it has to do with criticism of Islam. These are indisputable facts. I know. I watch his show every week. I catch him whenever he is doing an interview on tv. I follow his blog and twitter feed. Maher is consistently anti-war, especially in the middle east, period.

And Maher has conservatives on his show ALL THE TIME. Thats the point of his show, to get liberals and conservatives together and have discussions and debates. There is nothing wrong with that unless you insist on existing in an ideological bubble. Last week he had Bernie Sanders on the panel and he and Bernie were in total agreement about everything.

Anyway, I wasn't asking you "what the hell are you talking about", that was another poster and another conversation altogether.

He definitely seemed to be promoting Rand. Rand was eating it up and looking very much the "potential" candidate. Rand looked to me like he was trying out a sightly more moderate personna. He and Maher seemed to hit it off right away, especially on marijuana and sentencing reform.

Rand has me a little concerned right now because I can see how younger voters might support him, especially compared to our potential candidates.

13. MSNBC runs prison lockup shows at the same time, Friday nights. Lots more entertaining.

Your comparison of Maher to Dennis Miller is dead-on. It's a shame, because I enjoyed him for years, even respected him for bringing conservatives on his show (with obvious exceptions, like Coulter). Oh, well.....

12. Is HBO (Time Warner?) clear of a News Corp, Fox takeover yet? Maher mentioned

that a few months ago, saying 'does anybody have that Netflix number?'. Meaning is he insecure a bit, would his producers encourage him to bring in new blood like Paul? Esp. for youth viewers. Just saying.
I didn't expect last nite's surprise either, it was well practiced, even staged, & the fake buddy stuff was bs.

Paul is a menace but sadly attractive to disgusted post-Bush R's who don't know real Libertarian lunacy and his racist and other negatives. Same with millenials I've read who probably have interest b/c he's neither established Party, he's younger, plus the anti-war, pro-pot issues. He's been in Sil. Val. courting $ and votes from young, wealthy tech types who are financially set and in no need of D Party.
His old man is a fraud racist con who won't go away; junior tries but isn't slick or clever. What do I know..

16. Maher vs. Miller

The difference imho is that Maher is genuinely funny, while Miller just tried the "Seinfeld N.Y. Whiner" delivery technique. Politics aside of course. But even so, I've listened to Maher recently, not so with Miller (been maybe 5 years) but if Maher trends towards libertarianism, you really can't say that about Miller. From what I heard Miller advocating for he was obviously a full on neo con kool aid drinker.
