I am thinking the President has set the stage for VP Biden

to take a run at the Presidency. Those two have worked well together.

I understand that waiting to announce keeps the numbers who will be in contention in the primary down because they will be late to getting money people together, and its a pretty smart move. Hillary Clinton is brilliant and that is a brilliant move.

But,I think Hillary sitting on the sidelines waiting to announce (if she decides to announce) could backfire. Because I know that I am not the only one talking about VP Biden now along with a couple of others..

And watching the VP last night, with that wonderful grin of his as the President took it to the republicans on what the agenda will be for the Democrats was fun.. really fun..

with Romney? Well, then came the Vice-Presidential debate between Romney and Paul Ryan. Biden
made Ryan look like a high school debater. Biden was all over him. Obama also learned to be tougher
with Romney in the following two Presidential debates. Obama had learned from Romney.

I'd love to see Biden run. The more Democrats running, the merrier.

Traditionally, the field defers to him to announce his intention regarding running for POTUS.

But I don't know that he'd do it. He's seventy two years old now, he'd be seventy four taking the oath, seventy eight running for his 2nd term.

He really wanted to be Secretary of State eight years ago but his wife wanted him home (so the rumor goes). He is said to be quite well versed on geopolitical matters, and that well predates his years in residence at the Observatory.

is a coronation, no matter who gets 'crowned.' I think we need a robust campaign discussing progressive values. I think Joe would do quite well in that fight.

Win? Who knows.

When hhe won his first Senatorial campaign. I like Joe, I graduated from high school with his younger brother. His sister was did her student teaching in a class I was in my Senior year. He is very strong on foreign policy, but he is more third way democrat than Hillary. That worries me. Yes, he would be better than any possible Republican candidate, and I would vote for him if he were the nominee without hesitation. But I think we can find a better candidate for President than either he or Hillary.

Hillary being 67 and Joe being 72, they are both competent knowledgeable politicians.. and so in Martin O'Malley.. the Castro brothers who etc etc.. I get my back up about agism.. going both directions.. Its quality of character that interests me.. always..

He seems like a great guy...but I (like many) have trouble getting over his bankruptcy reform vote in congress.
Can anyone who likes Biden (yet agrees with Elizabeth Warren that financial system is rigged) tell me how to get over his coziness with his home state credit card companies? How can I get over this dissonance?

He seems to be one of the good guys, but what you mention is pretty seriously not very good. We will see. He's still heads above Hillary in my mind.

I'd have no problem with him if he ran, I like Joe a lot and really appreciated what he did to that snake Ryan in the VP debate. But I just don't get the feeling that he's interested in running.

toll just to run...primaries are brutal...and could besmirch his "older statesman" of the party position ... because he's almost sure to lose to Hillary.

It's the politicians and funders talking about Biden, and potentially offering him support that will be significant. And the reality is that, right now, they're not (I know one of his fundraisers). They and Biden will wait to see if Hillary runs or not. If she DOES run, Biden won't get in. If she doesn't (and I expect her decision in the next 1-2 months), he'll likely be the frontrunner.
