Let's all boycott the Super Bowl....

Domestic violence, Native Americans, brain damage, bullying, cheerleader abuse, DeflateGate...the list goes on and on. And we keep watching...until we stopped and sent the NFL and Roger Goodell a message right where they understand it....ratings. Let them know we are watching...by now watching:

But I haven't watched it in years and don't even own a TV.

The notion of a boycott is almost charming, but those who weren't going to watch in the first place still won't watch. Meanwhile, most people will watch. I doubt an organized boycott could get as many as a thousand people not to watch, who otherwise would have.

I actually like Superbowl Sunday because it's a good day for going to a movie, or out to eat at a restaurant with TV screens, or maybe a bookstore.

Also, I've long thought that any country that wanted to invade us need simply wait for a year the Washington team (whatever name they might go by in the future) to be in the Superbowl. The entire city shuts down, and I bet the game would be over for a half hour before anyone in authority noticed. Longer if they won.

But I'll be out of the room for the singing of the national anthem, and the inevitable fighter-jet fly-over.
