Hillary lacks something pretty essential to a politician

seeking the Presidency: "Teflon".

Everything sticks to her. The why of that is elusive. Is it that she's a woman? Is it her reactions to things? Is it the MSM? All of the above and more, but Hillary lacks "teflon".

Yes, I think she's the most likely democratic candidate to win the presidency. She'll almost certainly be the democratic nominee, but I think she'll have a tough time getting elected- in part because fricking everything negative sticks to her.

I believe she can win if she is the nominee. The clown car is full of worse than clowns.

I see no evidence of this assertion. If anything, one of the things that drive right wingers crazy is that no matter what they can't bring the Clintons down no matter what they do or say.

In order to have that "teflon" factor, you need two things ... an compliant/apologetic media and a willing audience. HRC doesn't have the former ... whether she has the latter, can't be judged by DU.

Seriously, all that negative stuff sticks to her, but nothing stops her. Doesn't even knock her approval ratings down.

suffered as Rush Oxycodone made fun of her pre-teen daughter and called her "ugly". No one in officialdom condemned it and he did it more than once, as I recall. Barbarians.

What did she tell her daughter...who has turned out quite well, in spite of it all.

Lots of practiced liars out there. A truth teller and usually a woman has a more difficult time deflecting the scum.

a few tempests in teapots fueled mostly by RW media. Has she authorized and tried to cover up anything like Watergate? Subverted the constitution ala Iran-Contra? Stolen an election? Orchestrated a series of lies to get the US into a war that killed thousands of Americans and hundreds of thousands of Iraqi's?
Not even close.
Ken Starr spent 40 million dollars and found zero to indict her with over Whitewater. Benghazi is BS. This email thing is certainly questionable but many other prominent members of government have done something very similar without consequences.

but I don't think that's one of them. Take Monica Lewinsky. I think Hillary came out of that entire mess looking like the only adult in the room. The womanizing stuck to Bill, but Hillary kept her head down, supported her husband, and kept going. The resilience is incredible. Right wingers have tried a lot of other things as well (they are like Pitt Bulls - Vince Foster, Bengahzi, and now they are going on about flipping emails of all things).

I will give one piece of advice for those running her - emphasize economics and keep her away from photo ops with bankers. I think that is the real weakness. Instead bring her down to Texas and do the photo ops with latina women. When we were running Obama we could not win in this county (despite the professional athletes we have down here who gave to him) because we were outnumbered by the hispanic vote. Just one county south of Houston, but it showed me she can get votes in Texas.

So, I think she may well have a better chance than people think in the general and that's what counts.
