1. Isn't that what they sometimes did in the old USSR?

If they didn't send you to a gulag for expressing an opinion they didn't like, they'd treat political dissent as a psychiatric problem and pack you off to a mental hospital. This guy in FL has been deemed to have mental issues because he acknowledged the reality of climate change in a report, and now he can't go back to work unless he gets "clearance" from a "mental health professional" - who, no doubt, has been told not to clear anyone who insists climate change is real. Kinda sounds like the NKVD's "psychiatrists." Rick Scott is using Soviet-style tactics to suppress any acknowledgment of climate change; how can that possibly be legal?

He's the one who has a guilty conscience, even If he refuses to acknowledge it...and when one ignores "it" long enough, egregiously enough - oneself needs to seek mental health guidance....
all just my humble opinion, of course

Branding those who dissented from the party line as insane and sending them for psychiatric treatment was a favourite method for removing troublemakers in the old USSR.

13. Ironically Florida will be eroded and damaged more than any other state from global warming.

Or not ironically.
That's probably why Florida created such a draconian policy.
They know it is a very serious matter within Florida so the only way to suppress discussion is to make it illegal. very
