Let's Revive Bill Clinton to Battle Gingrich

Let's Revive Bill Clinton to Battle Gingrich
THE COMEBACK KID WOULD TRUMP NEWT IN DEBATES

(NEWSER) – If the GOP can revive Newt Gingrich from his political grave, Democrats are allowed to play retro too—and bring back Bill Clinton, David Maraniss writes in the Washington Post. True, "the law prohibits the Comeback Kid from coming back to serve a third term, and Obama might not go for it, but only old-school twits would let any of that get in the way," chuckles Maraniss. Plus Bill and Newt's foibles would brilliantly balance each other out, banishing "pious baloney about sex" from our national debate.

Cue Newt's desire for 3-hour Lincoln-Douglas-style debates, where Bill, "who was born talking and never stopped, can match him word for word, hour after hour, until the last dog flaps its ears down. It would be a blabfest for the ages." Most delicious advantage for Clinton: In Gingrich's own words, "I melt when I'm around him." Writes Maraniss: "Clinton ate Gingrich alive back then. There is no reason to believe he has lost that magic spell."

7. Obama thought they were childish. Remember this quote from Obama:
Mon Jan 23, 2012, 08:52 PM
Jan 2012

“In the back-and-forth between Clinton and Gingrich, and in the elections of 2000 and 2004, I sometimes felt as if I were watching the psychodrama of the Baby Boom generation—a tale rooted in old grudges and revenge plots hatched on a handful of college campuses long ago—played out on the national stage.” Washington, as he saw it, was self-defeatingly partisan. He believed that “any attempt by Democrats to pursue a more sharply partisan and ideological strategy misapprehends the moment we’re in.”

Obama is above it all in his postpartisan world.

We're more polarized than ever. If we don't fight NOW, and fight hard, they win. Simple as that.

Who wants to see two old white men debate each other, as if we haven't seen enough of that already. The person who wrote the article is a clintonbot. The 90s are over, this is a new more radical rethug party. There was no teaparty or need for racial politics to the extent it is now, especially with a black president. This author, needs to be zapped into 2012.
