Citizens United has put campaigns into scorched-earth, mutual assured destruction

MAD mode.

After one Republican is left standing, or found on the floor unconscious but with a pulse, then it will be all guns turned on Obama.

It will be a huge cash influx for TV stations, but I doubt anyone's mind will be changed on either side.

For all that some supporters' websites said nasty things about other Democratic candidates in 2008, the candidates and any major associates knew where the line of civility was; and as a result, Obama could choose one competitor for VP, and another for Secretary of State, and it's all worked out fine.

At the moment, the Republican candidate most likely to find a role in government after this is Huntsman - he's more likely to get another ambassador gig than any of the Repubs invite each other to do anything that doesn't end '...off' or '...yourself'.
