Bernie has the luxury of being able to tell the truth

Not being beholden to big money donors frees him up.

He is not locked into half-measures. He can call for the breakup of
the big banks. He can call for the return of Glass-Steagall.
He can rail against the Billionaire class.

Of course, Donald Trump, as an actual Billionaire.....has even more freedom. He can literally say anything, true or otherwise.

They are the two sides of the money coin.

He is able to tell you what he believes.

You can agree with him or not, but he is free to speak the truth

until seeing Bernie and Donald Trump together in the same election cycle.

If we had public funding of elections it does more than just make it possible for other voices to be heard.

It frees up all politicians to tell the truth.

... With the gun manufacturers for the most part on holding them responsible for making a dangerous product more dangerous.
Id like him to be straight up with that

when you say, fifth ward.....are you talking about Houston?
that is the only fifth ward that I am familiar with

Based on what I've seen of Bernie's positions....

His solution would be to change the conditions in the fifth ward
that lead to violence, to use the power of government to change the
economic situation. Also, It is the fact that drugs are illegal that creates the gun violence, just as it did in relation to alcohol in Chicago in the 20's.

People use guns for a reason.....until you stop that reason, gun control will have little or no effect.

11. the point of my original post was to say that money prevents politicians from speaking the truth

that is all that I am referring to. Bernie speaks honestly when he is questioned.

If you are expecting Bernie to go into areas with gun violence and tell them about his belief that gun manufacturers shouldn't be held responsible....

Then I assume that you would also like Hillary to go into the homes of the thousands of veterans who have had their arms and legs blown off in Afghanistan and Iraq and are suffering from PTSD, and the homes of the thousands of families whose loved ones died in those wars so that she could explain why she voted to send them there.

12. In regards to Hillary hell yes I do, she's already said her support for that position was a mistake

... and has since changed that position and I don't think she'd do the same thing on a different day expecting a different result.

If I see Sanders go into communities that have been drenched with gun violence and say that he's standing with gun manufacturers for the most part I'd strongly consider voting for him.

That'd be the no BS positions

I doubt that it will be part of his stump speech, since he isn't some sort of gun crusader.

he usually takes questions from the audience, so I am sure that this will come up.

Pick a candidate, any candidate. I realize that intuitively this seems to be a good way to smear Sanders, but the people that support Sanders don't give a shit what Republicans think and are damned tired of Bush's and Clintons.

He speaks with total freedom.

If money wasn't the engine of politics, more people could speak freely,
and could therefore tell the truth.
