(96,882 posts)...but since I'm not worried about the debate schedule, I don't feel the need to "do something". As for "snark", I have a great deal of respect for people committed enough to their causes (whatever or whoever they are) to take serious action. Slacktivism however, is a real waste of time.

calling out anyone who does the real work is "taking serious action".
That is machine failure.

(96,882 posts)anyone who takes the time to contact DNC directly with their own comments has my utmost respect.

Like to hear the reason, in your own words, why you think there should be only six debates and a 2 month wait before the first.

(96,882 posts)...I believe that campaigns should be as efficient as possible. Spending time preparing for, traveling to, and then traveling from, debates that - in aggregate -appeal largely to political activists who are already committed to one of the candidates is not the best use of a candidate's time this far out. Additionally, endless debates that revisit the same material add nothing to our political discourse. Four debates closer in to the first primaries, and two later in the Primary cycle seems will maximize attention from less engaged voters who will be the bulk of the undecided, and will be perfectly adequate to discern the differences between the five (as opposed to 17) candidates we have to choose from.
RobertEarl
(13,685 posts)That's a pretty efficient way to reach 24 million people in one day. So that kills that argument about efficiency.
Then you say something about endless debates revisiting the same material. But that is what the campaigns are all about, traveling all over, making speeches to small crowds revisiting the same material. Talk about inefficient! Yet that is all you offer.
I had hoped you would come clean and just admit that the last thing the DNC wants is to help Bernie in any way. It's all too evident, and it is un-democratic. The party operatives should be ashamed of themselves for supporting such. I wish they'd all do the honest thing and resign. They are hurting the party by opposing what the People want, and that is more debates.
So, again your argument loses. And frankly, is un-democratic.

(96,882 posts)if Trump hadn't been on stage I doubt they would have gotten half as many viewers.
RobertEarl
(13,685 posts)Well we have seen that you doubt more democracy via more debates is a good thing, so your doubts are pretty much null and void.
When the DNC finally allows Bernie to take the stage in a national debate, there will be close to 35 million tune in to watch Hillary feel the Bern.
brooklynite
(96,882 posts)Boy this is confusing...
RobertEarl
(13,685 posts)Bernie has called for many, many debates. He even wants to debate the republicans, now.
I stand with Bernie and against the DNC operatives who are shaking in fear of there being real democratic debates that will end as soon as the election is over.
So, enough of your silly 'endless debates' pablum.
Why do you fear debates? Do you think Hillary will go down in flames? If so, I think your are dead on and is why the DNC operatives are pissing themselves in fear of real democracy.

(20,234 posts)The US government was formed to do what businesses had no desire to do:
HELP PEOPLE.
That is what Bernie is working to return us to,
and what CONSERVATIVES FEAR he will be able to do.

(20,234 posts)you FEAR it will hurt HRC's chances by making her take real positions
on matters that affect PEOPLE?
brooklynite
(96,882 posts)but apparently you feel they CAN'T be introduced in one debate...or six?
