Romney initially received resident status for tax purposes in Utah for his home.

And it appears that a drivers license and voter registration in Utah are two key pieces that are key to having only 55% instead of the non-resident 100% tax on property.

Then he convinced the Massachusetts election board that he was a Massachusetts resident after paying the difference in state tax. I wonder if Utah went after him to pay tax on 100% instead of 55%? Probably not since he likely has major pull there.
