Related: About this forumKarl Rove To Obama: Stop Calling Romney A Felon
SAHIL KAPUR JULY 15, 2012, 10:50 AM
President Obamas fierce attacks on Mitt Romneys history with Bain Capital hit a nerve with Karl Rove, who on Fox News Sunday simultaneously lashed out at the president and advised him to stop making one of his most explosive allegations: that Romney may be a felon.
Rove, the architect of President George W. Bushs presidential victories, now runs the pro-Republican super PAC American Crossroads, which is spending heavily to help Romney defeat Obama. He took issue with the Obama campaigns suggestion that Romneys SEC disclosure forms in which Romney described himself as managing director at Bain beyond 1999, contrary to his claim that he left that year could make him guilty of a felony ...
On Thursday, Obamas deputy campaign manager Stephanie Cutter lit up the firestorm after she said, Either Mitt Romney, through his own words and his own signature, was misrepresenting his position at Bain to the SEC, which is a felony.
On ABCs This Week, Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel, Obamas former chief of staff, called the attacks fair game. Mitt Romney said Bain Capital is his calling card for why he should be president, he said. As Mitt Romney said once to his own Republican colleagues: stop whining. I give him his own advice. Stop whining ...

(60,334 posts)And when truth is used, it is even worse.
Mr. Bain could make this all go away with full disclosure. Show us the tax returns and get the person in charge at Bain to come forward.
Otherwise KKKarl, Romney and all those whining for him can just shut the fuck up.

(27,461 posts)the damaging charge is that Romney got rich by outsourcing American jobs. Rove would like to sieze on that incidental comment about the felony and make that the issue.

(12,154 posts)Of course, I won't be surprised when Rove and the Repukes come up with a series of outrageous lies about Obama over the next 4 months. And you're right, Rove is green with envy and wishes to hell he could come up with something, anything, halfway as good to pin on Obama.
BTW, welcome to DU wolfsister77!

(13,360 posts)In my mind, every news article needs to point out that the SEC Filings are cause to investigate a felony, because SEC Filings are not just "legal mumbo jumbo."
... and then question if he was actually even qualified to be GOV since he may or may NOT have lived in Mass enough/at the time...am i right? Rachel had his former gov challenger on last night and pointed out this very 'glitch'...either he was or he wasn't, either way he's a felon or reeeealy stupid or both...

(3,767 posts)The first I heard of you was when you spread vicious rumors about John McCain in South Carolina. That's when I learned how low a person could go, (although, I'm sure there are other examples).

(331 posts)Didn't we liken Karl Rove to a "pig" in the last campaign? He is scum. In WV during the Bush years he circulated propoganda films in the churches. There is nothing this man will not do. It tickles me for him to say anything to our President. What we need to do is build our President up as a truth teller and show things he promised and things he has accomplished (promises kept). The American people don't pay close attention. We don't want them to think Obama is attacking Romney over and over. We want them to see what a liar Romney is and what a truth teller Obama is. It is an obvious contrast!

Trust me - we are still taking notes. So - you were saying?
