Tweets from Obama's meeting with the families...

https://twitter.com/PeterBurnsRadio

@PeterBurnsRadio
Impossible to describe the courage here in this room as victims families are meeting. Unlike anything I've ever witnessed

@PeterBurnsRadio
Family after family, the message is clear and undeniable. A plea for media to shift focus to victims and not suspect. Help end vicious cycle

@PeterBurnsRadio
President Obama has just come in and is sitting with each family individually. Amazing dialogue with each group.

@PeterBurnsRadio
Such a dichotomy of emotions after each Obama family meeting. Amazing celebrations of lives as well poignant issue discussions.

@PeterBurnsRadio
In a small conference room with groups circling their chairs to resemble discussion group. Obama sits w/each. Smiles now showing more.

@PeterBurnsRadio
We are over an hour in and I've just asked a Secret Service agent on how Obama is doing on time, the reply.."Time is not an issue here"

@PeterBurnsRadio
Obama with final comments saying he will make sure they will try to curb the media's morbid curiosity with the suspect. Focus on victims

@PeterBurnsRadio
Lighter moment, Obama assists a victim without Drivers License to fly home stating. "I have a little pull with the TSA" a needed laugh

@PeterBurnsRadio
There is a sense of relief and awe of the time taken. Also, a small sense of guilt about how many others deserve this type attention.

And fuck your interpretation of the 2nd Amendment. Your precious firearms kill a lot of people. A LOT OF PEOPLE.

You likely don't want to debate the matter because you know you're on the wrong side of it.

Guns are built to kill. They serve no other function. And they manage to do that quite regularly with the help of the nutjobs who have no trouble getting them.

You likely don't want to debate the matter because you know you're on the wrong side of it.

Not only am I on the right side of it, I'm on the winning side of it.

Yes, guns are built to kill, and killing is exactly what the second amendment is about.

This is what a leader does - he reaches out to those in need. I have no clue what Mitt is.

I'm sure Mitt realizes that this is not a place for him to be right now. But honestly, if he was President I couldn't see him doing something like this. It takes courage and it takes humbleness to show up after a tragic event like this and just listen to these people. That's what they want and Obama knows how to deliver.

I can see him meeting with the families...and making them very, very uncomfortable. That shallow, nervous laugh, total disconnect, I imagine a 'friendly pat on the back' that would make these folks cringe. I would also imagine that he'd want out of there as quickly as possible. I'm not saying he doesn't feel compassion for the friends and families of the victims, just that he doesn't seem to have the wiring to express it.

I've never met our President in person, but I've seen the photos of him interacting with people of all stripes. He's genuine. You can see it in his eyes, his body language and the way that children accept him. We not only have a human being as President, but a compassionate, loving soul.

- Spoke with WH @PressSec and now have his word that he will not utter the name of the suspect who committed this act.

- Sat down with President Obama. He has been incredible. He too has agreed not to mention the shooter's name.

- President Obama came in knowing about Jessica and left knowing more.

He did help them in their process of healing.

It is the reason many people love him.

Thanks so much for posting this.
