RW UK press on Romney - "Utterly devoid of charm" / Whitehall: "Worse than Palin", "total car crash"

From the Daily Telegraph: “Mitt Romney is perhaps the only politician who could start a trip that was supposed to be a charm offensive by being utterly devoid of charm and mildly offensive.
His derisory comments questioning Britain’s preparedness for the Olympics in an interview with NBC were a strange way to build bridges with a country that he says should be restored as the umbilical ally of the United States, and a strange way to demonstrate the persuasive qualities needed as leader of the free world.”

This is Romney after getting owned by our bumbling, flustered PM:

And according to Daily Mail (even further to the right than the Telegraph) political editor James Chapman, some of the kinder verdicts from Whitehall are that Romney is "worse than Palin" and a "total car crash".

REPUBLICAN presidential candidate Mitt Romney says it's impossible for a country to stage an Olympics without making mistakes - comments that came as Britain faced criticism over security woes and a blunder over North Korea's flag.

Mr Romney, who served as the head of the 2002 Winter Games in Salt Lake City, was meeting with British leaders and senior lawmakers, a day ahead of the opening ceremony for the London Olympics.

"It is impossible for absolutely no mistakes to occur," Mr Romney said as he met main opposition Labour Party leader Ed Miliband at the Houses of Parliament.

"Of course there will be errors from time to time, but those are all overshadowed by the extraordinary demonstrations of courage, character and determination by the athletes," he said.

Dubya, while a ludicrous President, could kind of interact with people on some level. Romney's politics are just as bad, but he also manages to make you wonder whether his public mishaps are due to genuine stupidity or severe autism. How do you make a fool of yourself with such alarming regularity?!

Sure.. the other countries laughed at his buffoonery, but he could connect with them.

Romney is a train wreck, devoid of personality and decency. He is a hot head and your standard nincompoop.
