Inside Hillary Clinton's Meeting With Black Lives Matter

Inside Hillary Clinton's Meeting With Black Lives Matter
Attendees said the presidential candidate talked more frankly about racism than she does in public.

“It took her awhile to get there, but she got there. So I’m hopeful that she will continue to have this educational conversation with herself to acknowledge her privilege,” Elzie said. Sanders was much quicker to acknowledge his position in the world, she noted.

“You saying that you know that you’re white, you know that you have power, and you know that you are wealthy is not the same as seeing it and knowing that the way that police interact with you is completely different than how they will ever interact with us,” Elzie said. “I felt like Bernie understood that.”

Mckesson said Clinton, like many Americans, also seemed to struggle with the notion that “police don’t actually always make people feel safe” and that Americans don’t all share the same conception of the police.

Both Elzie and Mckesson said they were disappointed that Clinton seemed resigned to the fact that the federal government doesn’t play a major role in local policing.

You're new here so I guess you haven't heard that that just doesn't matter. Yep. For some reason, with Bernie, his activist and political record simply do not make a difference, even though generally politicians' records are something used to determine whether you wish to support them or not.

You'll learn the DU rules soon enough if you stick around.

Welcome, btw...

Where was the outrage when she didn't even let BLM into her event and shuttled them off to the SRO only section even though she had advance notice that they were going to be there?

Where was the outrage when she spoke so condescendingly to BLM activists?

Where was the outrage when BLM activists expressed concern about her after that?

There certainly was a shit storm by DUers claiming to care about BLM after they protested at Bernie's event. What happened to all that 'concern'?

but let's see if they really care about BLM or if they were just exploiting an important issue for political purposes.

It's hard to imagine - if I were a Clinton supporter -- a more damaging report on that
meeting with BLM, than this one. Ouch.
