Aren't you the sly boots? You just forgot to include the info that this little blog entry is 6 months old, and oh my, how the political landscape has changed since then! Only 6 months ago, "it appears for now that she will not face a tough primary challenge in 2016." http://www.local21news.com/news/features/politics-and-government/stories/Pennsylvania-Sen-Bob-Casey-to-endorse-Hillary-Clinton-137640.shtml

Those "astronomical leads" when she was the only candidate are gone with the wind, baby - that same wind of clean, fresh mountain air blowing through Boulder yesterday when 9,000 showed up on a few days notice to cheer on Bernie!

You can console yourself as much as possible with those old press clippings. Reminds me of Norma Desmond making her speech at the closing of Sunset Boulevard:
"She pauses and makes an impromptu speech about how happy she is to be making a film again, ending with "All right, Mr. DeMille, I'm ready for my close-up."
"Mr. DeMille? Mr. DeMille? Is anyone there?"

Casey sided with then-Sen. Barack Obama in the grinding 2008 primary with Clinton, and campaigned with Obama during the six weeks leading up to the climactic Pennsylvania primary. Clinton carried the state, but lost the nomination.

It’s not as if Casey had any viable alternative choices at this point. Clinton, former first lady, U.S. senator from New York and secretary of state is the only announced candidate for the Democratic nomination. Some on the left have pushed for another choice, citing Clinton’s ties to Wall Street and generally moderate views.

Former Maryland Gov. Martin O’Malley is considering a challenge to Clinton as are former Virginia Sen. Jim Webb and Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders, an independent who caucuses with the Democrats. Clinton’s lead over any potential primary opponent tested is astronomical in recent polls.

On edit: Sanders entered the race one week after this article was published.

Is this the new meme for Clinton supporters? Trot out reports from the good old days when HRC had no opposition, as if she's getting new endorsements?!? Well, that's about all they've got.

Thanks. So people that alert for various reasons regardless if it is "a complete fail" or not the jury members are free to post the results in a mocking manner? Thanks. I really enjoy reading the sometimes childish replies. I was told to "put on your big girl panties" for an alert that was denied. Love that sexist and homophobic remarks are allowed but such a fine group of people.

Thanks again for info.

23. Are endorsements meant to be persuasive? They still only get one vote each just like the rest of us.

Bernie's 1.3 million individual donors seem a more relevant endorsement.

.....and 32 current Senators who have endorsed her.

That's 146 of the people who have seen him in action as a legislator and know him best as a legislator.

Now here's the complete list of Representatives and Senators who have endorsed Sanders:

Raul Grijalva (D-Ariz.)

On a positive note, he WAS endorsed by Jesse Ventura and Ben & Jerry!

The article you referred to remains relevant to this campaign. Nothing desperate about pointing out HRC/s ongoing ties to Big Banking.

Hillary Clinton's Goldman Sachs Problem

She talks populism, but hobnobs with Wall Street.

41. I was not aware of one of the 'rules' around here and got a HIDE yesterday....
Sun Oct 11, 2015, 11:02 PM
Oct 2015

I posted a photo of the million man march in DC yesterday -NOT knowing that the article contained a photo of the march 20 years ago. Yesterday was the anniversary of the Million man march. I had checked back on my OP just to see what were the comments-there were 3 or 4 mostly commenting on the nice photo. Then I went to make supper for my elderly mom who does not move around too well--she does not cook anymore (90 years old but good mental health--but the bones are weak). Anyway we had a quick supper, I showed her a few facebook notes and some news--she does like to keep up with news). I was probably a little over an hour (i may be off as I am only estimating) and I came back to my laptop and a DU mail was flashing. And there is was a HIDE because someone was upset that the photo in the article I had posted was inaccurate. Yup-someone alerted -and someone called my post a LIE. I was beyond flabbergasted!! This is the new DU. Watch yourself.

ALERTER'S COMMENTS

This pic is from 1995. The OP was informed of this an hour ago and others have since asked for the p ost to be removed. The OP posted in another thread 20 minutes ago, so s/he is on line and aware of the problem. Originally intended, or not, it's now knowingly deceiving DU.

JURY RESULTS

A randomly-selected Jury of DU members completed their review of this alert at Sat Oct 10, 2015, 05:42 PM, and voted 4-3 to HIDE IT.

Juror #1 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: Don't think there is a limit on photos posted on DU, we have had many photos posted which are older. Alerted is much too sensitive.
Juror #2 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: No explanation given
Juror #3 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: The post isn't rude or offensive. If it's inaccurate, the alerter can say so, as others have. This is NOT a reason to alert. It is an opportunity for educating.
Juror #4 voted to HIDE IT
Explanation: No explanation given
Juror #5 voted to HIDE IT
Explanation: The alerter convinced me. After looking at the pattern of banners in the audience in Muriel_Volestrangler's post, it's very clear that this is an old photo. The poster should repost either without a photo, or with an actual photo from today.
Juror #6 voted to HIDE IT
Explanation: No explanation given
Juror #7 voted to HIDE IT
Explanation: Since the OP is aware but has not corrected this I must agree with the alerter

27. Well, I found it timely since I hadn't previously heard of this endorsement

In addition, it would appear from the responses that others are hearing this for the first time as well. Maybe you had previously heard of this endorsement, but even other Bernie supporters are responding in a manner that appears they hadn't heard this endorsement either.

It curious that it's so important for bernie supporters to try and squash good news for Hillary with something as petty as a notice that is a few months old and missed by many.

Did he?

It really feels like you are making up some sort of unspoken rule to harsh Hillary supporter mellow.

Democrats should not underestimate Pennsylvania. This endorsement is vital to the party and the state of Pennsylvania.

He is bringing a ton of new people into politics such as yourself. Many will stick around even if Hillary wins the primary. The party will grow in support. Since you weren't as involved in '08 I just want to let you know Casey endorsed Obama. Obama is the guy who won.

Endorse HRC. It's not news. That's why we're for Bernie. Just saying...

Spielberg endorsed Hillary in 2007 and 2015.

Harrison Ford best buds with Bill, golfing buddy and went to High school with Hillary. Raised a Dem and remains a Dem to this day. Wonder where his 2015 endorsement will go?
