Hillary considered Bill Clinton for V.P.

Hillary Clinton: Bill as VP has 'crossed her mind'
Washington (CNN)
Hillary Clinton said the idea of picking her husband -- former President Bill Clinton -- as vice president had "crossed her mind,
" but has been advised it would be unconstitutional.

“ ... I think the argument would be as vice president it would not be possible for him to ever succeed to the position -- at least that's what I've been told,"

Just trying to boost ratings without legitimate, valid claim for such a nonsense claim.

It says nothing about succession. To wit, Theodore Roosevelt succeeded McKinley. He was elected in his own right in 1904. He could have run in 1908 but did not. But he came back in 2012 and ran unsuccessfully with the Bull Moose Party.

Lyndon Johnson succeeded John F. Kennedy. He was elected in his own right in 1964. He was expected to run in 1968, but withdrew after the poor showing in the New Hampshire primary.

Why can't this work in reverse? You could be elected twice, and succeed to the presidency once. How is that wrong?

since it was ratified in the 1950s.

Johnson could have run for President in 1968 because he had served less than 1/2 of Kennedy's term.

If Gerald Ford had been elected in 1976, he couldn't have run in 1980 because he had served more than 1/2 of Nixon's 2nd term.

immediately after your second quote. You omitted that part of the CNN article. It was a joke. Everyone knows that Bill Clinton could not be VP. That's why she could joke about that.

Here's the whole quote, including the part you left out:

"He would be good, but he's not eligible, under the Constitution. He has served his two terms and I think the argument would be as vice president it would not be possible for him to ever succeed to the position -- at least that's what I've been told," she joked to Extra's Mario Lopez, in an interview posted Monday."

See, when you leave out important parts of articles, you warp the meaning of what you post. Maybe you were going for economy of words. I don't know. But, it's important to quote all of the pertinent information, don't you think?
