Under Pressure: Rep. Trey Gowdy (R) Melts Down: Blasts CNN, Calls Ex-Staffer A Liar

Trey Gowdy's Benghazi Committee has taken a lot of heat of late. Majority leader Rep. McCarthy admitted to Fox News that the committee was all about hurting Hillary Clinton's presidential aspirations and this weekend a former staffer from Gowdy's blue ribbon panel has admitted that it was a partisan witch hunt set up to investigate Hillary Clinton and nothing more.

Poor Rep. Trey Gowdy was forced to respond to the allegations after Maj. Bradley Podliska, a conservative, blew the whistle on CNN this weekend.

Not only has he yelled "you lie!" to Podliska's charges, he has now attacked CNN for interviewing him in the first place.

Trey Gowdy Benghazi Committee is a political hit directed toward Hillary Clinton. There is no doubt about it. That is why Trey Gowdy is coming apart as his committee records and correspondences are requested to be reviewed.

should occur. They should prosecute any abuse of power found to discourage partisan witch hunts at our expense! I am not a Hillary supporter, but I am also not inclined to push false attacks either. Our government is just a nest of partisan hacks put in place by a corrupt system of campaign finance that allows for idiots and crooks to obtain the power with which they too readily abuse!

Kevin McCarthy is a prime example, how could someone that can't speak a complete sentence and is too stupid he does not know that admitting the truth of what the Committee was doing was not a good idea get elected in the first place? $$$$$$$$$$$, that's how!

A political witch-hunt, bent on political destruction of a political opponent, is a much more serious offense than the original offense they were purporting to investigate.

Darrell Issa has been the chief architect of character assassination attacks for the Republican Party for many years. When the new star, Gowdy, arrived on the scene, he was more than willing to carry the torch.

If there is going to be an investigation of the facts, then all facts must be on the table, including those of the investigating committee.

The truth is starting to form and it doesn't look pretty for Trey Gowdy and the Republicans. It is abuse of power of the worst sort.

I can only hope that the Democrats don't fail the citizens again as they did when they didn't fully investigate the Bush administration that took us to war on lies and cost the lives of thousands of innocent Iraqi citizens and nearly 5,000 of our military at the cost of trillions. I can only hope that it isn't politics as usual. You know lets agree to sweep it under the rug.

"Oct. 7: I filed ethics complaint against Kevin McCarthy."
"Oct. 8: McCarthy abandoned his quest to be Speaker."

Demand to see the committee's records and correspondence between members, aides, and outside consultants.

How many people planned to politically damage Hillary Clinton using a government agency?

How much Tax payer money is being wasted?

These questions need answers!

While Benghazi was always a witchhunt, I think the staffer could well be lying about it 'turning into one' and him getting fired for being too noble to go along. Cause it always was. If he was so noble, he would have quit within days, not gotten fired after years. So I think in this case, Trey might actually be the honest one here - the staffer didn't quit out of some sort of nobility, but simply was incompetent at the tasks assigned to him.
