I like Bernie Sanders because he is a LIBERAL DEMOCRAT

I know, I know. He calls himself a Socialist. And he has not been a Democrat.

But he is, in essence, a Liberal Democrat in the best sense.

I figure if he wants to call himseld a Socialist, that's fine. But he's a socialist like FDR was a socialist.

After decades of the Democratic Establishment being slick "centrist" types, who can't really be pinned down, with Sanders what you see is what you get. The spirit of Good Traditional Liberalism. The common good. Standing up for working people and the poor, without being watered down. Recognizing that Big Bidness has to be accountable and regulated. Realizing that there are some aspects of the Public Interest and common needs that should not be subject to the dictates of "markets."

No decoding necessary. No reading between the lines. No lines of slick bullshit to mask the corporate agenda within a Trojan Horse.

Just a good ol' Liberal.

In the debate, Bernie said the best things by far. His mistakes were not issue oriented - at times he seemed impatient, and could have had more debate prep on foreign affairs. But I was a committed Bernie supporter before and nothing changed. To me, the big banks, Wall Street, and the rich getting richer off the backs of the middle class and poor are THE most important issues - most everything else is a result of those problems. Hillary performed well, but didn't seem like a true Progressive. Also, being a woman will differentiate her from a third Obama term? Not a good answer IMO. Bernie won more hearts IMO even if he isn't as polished a debater. Hillary got most passionate over guns and maybe one or two other things - but Bernie was passionate throughout.

The Iraq war vote is indefensible in my book. Beyond that....do her supporters honestly believe her Wall Street Donors do not expect something for all their millions? Or the security state/perpetual war machine folks?

The Hillary supporters either don't drill down into reality much or maybe they do and don't care for whatever reason.

Unless you are very well off Bernie is better for your own life.

I know, I know.....but one can always hope

But regardless of label I get the same straightforward feeling of trust in his motives and goals that one gets about the best of the unambiguous liberal Democrats.
