NEW DU ONLINE POLL STANDARD: Democrats Name Clinton The Debate Winner In HuffPost/YouGov Poll

Tuesday's Democratic presidential debate on CNN did what debates usually do, according to a new HuffPost/YouGov poll. It allowed the two leading candidates to make a positive impression on an audience of millions.

More critically, however, the debate allowed front-runner Hillary Clinton to boost her standing among a far bigger base of support, making her the clear winner in the eyes of most Democratic voters.

A 55 percent majority of registered Democratic voters who watched the debate said Clinton won. Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.), who saw a surge in online interest and fundraising, was a distant second, with only 22 percent saying he was the best of the night.

Clinton also saw an uptick in the proportion of Democrats who say they want her to be the party's presidential nominee. Before the debate, 44 percent of registered Democrats said they wanted Clinton to be the nominee. After the debate, the figure had risen to 52 percent.

The HuffPost/YouGov poll consisted of 1,000 completed interviews conducted Oct. 13 and Oct.14 among U.S. adults, using a sample selected from YouGov's opt-in online panel to match the demographics and other characteristics of the adult U.S. population.

So, people who did not watch the debate think Hillary won. This is simply proving that the pundit's spin worked.

Your desperation is obvious here. If Hillary had really won then you would not need to resort to this.

Then started taking entries midway through the debate.

Of falsified information.

Perhaps you'd like to put together a scientific poll?

and it can be considered.

There can be no doubt that the pundits had an effect on this poll. Unlike the ones that took place during or immediately after the debate.

It really pisses you off that Bernie has so many enthusiastic fans. I can't imagine anyone on DU whose skin I'd like to be getting under more. The best part is that these fans are putting their money where their mouth is. $3 million and counting since Tuesday in small donations.

You are required to opt in to their service via an internet ad placement to vote.

Very "scientific".

Wow.

No, what we Sanders supporters have said is that in our opinion based on our observations of the focus groups, online polls, etc, we believe Sanders won. None of us once said it was 'the science'.

That was started by Clinton supporters to attack our position, yet, none of y'all could defend your own opinions. Clinton won because she looked presidential. Wow, that's some science goodness. Clinton won because all of the pundits said so. Yup, that is definitely some science goodness.

And now, y'all throw up a poll to bolster your opinion that she won. But it isn't scientific. Y'all don't give a shit. Supposedly we Sanders supporters said it doesn't matter so now that makes it ok for y'all.

The mental permutations are astounding.

The lies, projections, distortions, etc. are fascinating. No wonder y'all like her. She acts the same way. Well, I am a proud moderate...no wait...I am a progressive....no wait....I am pragmatic....now what did my last focus group say I should say here in NV?
